IRobot not picking up dirt
this link fixed my prob :
http://www.robotreviews.com/chat/viewtopic.php?t=10628
and just in case the link doesn't work, basically, you have to take out the whole red brush-head assembly unit by unscrewing the 4 screw screws that hold in down in either corner; then find the side of the unit that has the gearing inputs, and unscrew all the screws until you get inside and clean out all the hair...
That should do it :)
Why don't my robot brushes turn?
Remember that at least every week you need to take out the brushes, and pretty much everything else that is removable and thoroughly clean them, including the brush hubs. If you have access to compressed air, gently blow out dust/dirt from all the sensors. Regular cleaning is mandatory to keep your Roomba running correctly. In my experience, a good cleaning solves most Roomba issues. Regular cleaning prevents most issues.
Roomba discovery stop working
Try spraying a compressed air can (computer cleaner) under the brush compartment (under the yellow housing). There are sensors and other wires underneath.
Dont move forward.
Blow out the unit with compressed air, particularly around the wheels and under the bumper. Tap the bumper with your hand.
If your Roomba stops and beeps at you, count the beeps AFTER the initial "uh-oh" tone. Then call customer support (1-877-855-8593) for assistance.
Good luck.
I starts and tehn stops
Hi,
TYhe iRobot Roomba has different model designations. Here is a webpage with a list of what the beeps mean in the 400 series. I am thinking that is what you have. 3 beeps means the dirt cup is dirty, filters are dirty, or debris in collecting and it needs to be cleaned.
Here is the webpage: http://uksupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1047/kw/iRobot%20Roomba%20Discovery%20SE%20Bagless%20Robotic%204200%20series%20Vacuum%20beeps%203%20times/related/1
Hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote. Thanks,

Press the power button on
Hi, remove the battery and hold the power button for 15 seconds. This will restart the charging cycle as if the battery were new. If after 72 hours, it stays orange your battery is either sub-standard voltage or not sold as advertised.
Brushes don't turn
they might be jammed up.pull brush rollers out. pull off funny looking yellow ends clean out hair ect.
Roomba dirt in filter but NOT in bin
possibly the vacuum fan is plugged up or not spinning fast enough to pick up heavier items. disassemble the back canister and clean the fan chamber.(THis is one area of regular maintenance). if it is all clean then try to replace the motor. The other possiblity... You have one damn clean house. :)
Charging system failure?
Hi, power constantly showing red signifies you need a new battery and since you claimed to have changed battery on three different occasions, i advice you to get a tech to service it which will cost less than $50..
Take care
I have the irobot roomba and the battery does not
The Roomba has a rechargable Battery. The Roomba battery like any battery will eventually ware out after so many charges and discharges. Mine lasted about three years and then is would hardly hold a charge. I purchased a new battery and then it worked fine after that.
As for not going forward. That is usually due to a dirty bumper sensor. You have to take the Roomba apart for cleaning that. You can take it to Sears and they will do it for you.
My roomba discovery will not operate on the clean
If your Roomba goes "uh-oh", beep-beep-beep, that's a 3-beep error code, indicating that your vacuum motor is stalled. Remove the grill from the outside (back) of the dustbin and make sure that the impeller (looks like a fan) turns easily and is not clogged with dirt. Then try to run the robot with the bin ON but the grill OFF. You should be able to tell whether the vacuum impeller is spinning. If not, you'll need a new bin. You can confirm wth customer support by calling 1-877-855-8593.
