Spin cycle
Hi,
If your washer won't spin, check these:
It doesn't pump or spin If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:
- If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.
- If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
It pumps, but doesn't spin If your washer pumps out the water but doesn't spin, check these:
- The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
- The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.
- A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)
- The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician.
- The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.
- The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.
- The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.
It spins only with the lid closed For safety, washing machines are made so that they spin only with the lid closed. The lid switch prevents the spinning action when the lid is up.

Hoover HW160m - double inlet but only 1 tap at new build.
Hello,
You can use the cold water only with no issues at all. The only thing you will have to do is buy a cap to block off the hot water inlet on the back of the machine otherwise the cold water will flow out through it onto your floor etc.
And yes, your machine has an element built in which will heat the water for you!
Regards,
Adrian.
Fluff removal
you will have to manually Remove condenser unit and clean any build up of fluff from between the arears of the gaskets and the inlet covers.
Wont Drain
If there is a drain issue, sometimes there is an obvious solution. Check the
drain hose for any kinks, as well as checking any lint filters in or on the
drain hose. Is there a lint sock on the end that's full? Perhaps the drain line
itself is plugged. You will want to make sure that the house drain system is not
backed up or plugged. Always make sure that the washer drain hose is above the
level of water in the drain tub. Some Whirlpool/Kenmore washers make use of a
side-check valve near the tub outlet which may get clogged. A standpipe should
be at least 1 1/4 inches in diameter, and never seal a drain hose into a
standpipe. This can lead to back-siphoning. You also want to make sure that the
standpipe is less than 96 inches in height.
Pump problems show various symptoms. Sometimes the pump will lock up and
seize. If the motor is running, it will continue to try to turn the pump. In the
case of belt-driven pumps, the belt may break or burn through. The pulley may
shear off. If there is enough tension on the belt, and the motor continues to
try to turn it, you may wind up with a seized motor as well. The pump itself may
have seized bearings, be jammed by clothing or another object; or the impeller
blades may be broken off. The usual fix is to replace the pump.
If you think your pump may be jammed, drain out your tub and remove the
hoses. Look inside the hoses and see if there are any obstructions. Feel around
inside the pump inlets for anything that may be jamming the pump itself. You can
also use long-nosed pliers to feel around inside the pump for any items that may
be causing a jam. If you haven't found a jam, and you still believe there may be
a jam in the pump, you can completely remove the pump from the washer and
inspect it more closely.
Occasionally, transmission gears may become worn, or some other internal part
may go bad. Some older washer models have an electric-mechanical shifter. If it
won't shift, it's best to call a professional appliance repair person to address
this issue. If your transmission is leaking oil, there are really only two
options at this point, either run it until it dies completely, or replace it
now.
Leaking
I sugest that you remove the dispenser from the waher, remove every piece of it and thoroughly clean all parts, particularly the part(s) that take the conditioner down.Trust this helps you.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

My Hoover H dish wont start when i touch the start buttons i have 3 flashing lights
When you encounter flashing lights on your Hoover H dishwasher and the appliance is not responding as expected, it indicates that there might be a problem with the dishwasher's operation. The specific meaning of the flashing lights can vary based on the dishwasher model and its error code system. However, here are some general troubleshooting steps you can take:
- Check the Manual: Refer to your dishwasher's user manual or guide. Look for a section that explains the meaning of the flashing lights and any corresponding error codes. The manual may provide guidance on what steps to take to resolve the issue.
- Power Reset: Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the control board and resolve minor glitches.
- Check for Door Lock Issue: Some dishwashers have a safety feature that prevents them from starting if the door is not closed properly or the door latch is faulty. Make sure the door is securely closed and the latch is functioning correctly.
- Check Water Supply: Ensure that the water supply to the dishwasher is turned on and there are no kinks or blockages in the water inlet hose.
- Inspect Drainage: Check the dishwasher's drainage system for any clogs or obstructions. A blocked drain can prevent the dishwasher from starting.
- Cancel Any Previous Cycles: If there was a previous cycle that was interrupted or not completed, try canceling that cycle and then select a new cycle to see if the dishwasher starts.
- Child Lock: Some dishwashers have a child lock feature that can prevent the appliance from starting. Check if your dishwasher has this feature and make sure it's not activated.
- Error Codes: If your dishwasher has an error code display, note down the specific error code that corresponds to the flashing lights. Look up the error code in your manual or online to understand what the issue might be.
- Professional Service: If none of the above steps resolve the issue and your dishwasher is still not responding, it's advisable to contact Hoover customer support or a professional appliance technician for further assistance. They can diagnose and repair any more complex issues that might be affecting your dishwasher.
Remember to always prioritize safety when working with electrical appliances. If you're unsure about any step, it's best to seek professional help.
My hoover dynamic washer is not showing an error code but all the lights are flashing and beeping all the time.
If your Hoover Dynamic washer is not displaying any specific error code but all the lights are flashing and it's beeping continuously, there might be an issue with the control panel or a more general system malfunction. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
- Power Cycle the Washer: Turn off the washer and unplug it from the power outlet. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, this simple reset can resolve minor electronic glitches.
- Check for Overloaded Washer: If the washer is overloaded with clothes, it can cause the control panel to act abnormally. Try running a smaller load and see if the flashing lights and beeping stop.
- Inspect the Water Supply: Ensure that the water supply to the washer is adequate and not restricted. Low water pressure or a clogged water inlet can cause unusual behavior in the washer.
- Check the Drainage: Make sure the drainage hose is not clogged or kinked. A blocked drainage system can lead to improper functioning of the washer.
- Examine the Door Lock: If the door lock is not engaging properly, the washer might not start or show unusual behavior. Check if the door is securely closed and the lock mechanism is functioning correctly.
- Check for Leaks: Look for any leaks around the washer. Water leakage can trigger safety features, leading to flashing lights and beeping.
- Inspect the Control Panel: Examine the control panel for any physical damage, moisture, or dirt accumulation. Clean the panel gently and make sure all buttons and knobs are functioning correctly.
- Software Glitch: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that the washer's control board has encountered a software glitch. In this case, you may need to contact Hoover customer support or a professional appliance repair technician to diagnose and fix the problem.
How do i remove the program selector knob from a hoover washing machine DYN9164DPG
To remove the program selector knob from a Hoover washing machine DYN9164DPG, please follow these steps:
- Unplug the washing machine from the power source.
- Locate the small metal tab located underneath the program selector knob.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry up the metal tab.
- Pull the program selector knob off the machine.
The metal tab acts as a locking mechanism to keep the knob in place, so be sure to pull the knob straight off the machine once the tab has been released. If you encounter any resistance, double-check that the metal tab is fully released before attempting to pull the knob off again. Once removed, you should be able to access and replace the selector switch.
