Not filling

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a87KTHws2MFirst try turning off the machine for 30 minutes. Re-plug. If nothing happens. Disconnect from mains. Then check your inlet valve. Shut off valve, switch off machine & see if the water comes full flow. Check the fine filters on the machine inlet entry, they could be blocked, clean out. The FH indicates a fill failure and this is usually caused by a bad water valve, flow meter or pressure switch. One key to determining the cause of the FH error is how fast the error comes up in a cycle. If the error appears within 1 or 2 minutes then the most likely cause will be the water valve or flow meter. If the error doesn't appear for several minutes then the pressure switch can be the source of the problem. There is a slim tube going up from the filter area to a switch near your control board or panel; it leads to the pressure switch - it should not be blocked or leaky - ie.with holes. Both water valves must be turned on and working. Even if a cold wash is selected at some point during the fill the hot water valve will be energized and if there is no water then the FH error will show up. Sometimes a consumer will turn the hot water valve off to save energy but you can't turn one valve off on some washers.Inlet valves can be purchased thru searching this site and fitted by you easily.Just noted that your machine is a top load; anyways, click if helped.

Hoover 705 , overfills and fllods laundry can it be fixed

On my hoover 200m (top loader) I had a similar problem. I turned off the machine & unplugged it. Closed water taps both hot & cold. Manually emptied machine with large cup. Undid bottom outlet hose by unclipping. The residual water will come out! I undid the 3 screws on the control panel. Tilted the control panel forward. The water level is manual control using a diagaphram pressure control to set water level. This had a hose. I disconnected both ends and used a bicycle pump to blow air thorough it. Underneath I disconnected where the hose goes into machine (clips) and also blew air from the top to check it was clear. After reconnecting everything the machine now does not stop filling and does not overflow anymore. Hope this helps.

Bits of black in the wash other wise works fine

I had that happen with a Samsung top loader last year. It was easily cured by reducing the amount of fabric softener that I used. It's so easy just to fill the fabric softener dispenser to the brim, instead of just putting one capful in the dispenser. That was the advice that the Samsung company gave me and it worked fine. I had to remove the inner cylinder first because the black bits were stuck to the outside of the inner cylinder and needed brushing off........ but that was an easy job. Good luck.

Your discharge hose is forming a syphon You need to arange a solution to break the syphon effect without causing an external leak such as a "T" piece at the top of the discharge hose with a valve. Shuts off under pressure (when pump is opperating) but opens when under suction (trying to syphon)

The water does not always shut off and keeps

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven from the flow into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

My Hoover washing machine 2305l sometimes dosen't

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

When i turn on the machine to wash the water fills

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one,( if the washer is hot and cold fill which I suspect it is as you say 'the hoses'!), and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(
Good luck,

Hoover 550M washing machine - taking ages to fill,

Check the inlet screen on the hose connection on the back of the machine. This may be clogged with debris, also make sure you hose is not crimped. You can unhook the inlet hose and put it in a bucket and turn it on to see how much water is actuall coming thru that hose. I suspect some type of blockage in the inlet.
