Hoover HTC243 Top Load Washer - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Goes through cycle until it
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

How to clean out the machine a top load 7.5 kg
Open the lid, locate the centre washing spindle/arm then undo the cap on top of the spindle (this will either unscrew or just slip out, Pull up.) inside there you will see the lint filter, wash this out and put back.
Cold cycle doesnt run in any mode
The solution is a faulty solenoid valve.Replacing the valve is easy.
Turn off your machine, unscrew hose, remove 3 screws to lift control cover, slide out locking tab, unclip wires, then the replace valve.
Here is a
link to the part.
Happy Holidays!

Hi there,
i have a hoover
Hi,
Following will be the causes for water not draining properly
1.There is a motor/Pump which operates to to drain the water check whether that motor is working.
2.Check filter and clean it
3.Check the drain pipeline whether it clear
4.Check the inlet valve of the machine Sometimes the drain works properly but the inlet solenoid valve will not hold and the water keeps coming in and fills the drum
Thank You
Hoover 700LB - fills as per normal and washes but
Hi just read your posting.Does the timer move at all from the original position that you started it from?If it does not move at all then you need a new or reconditioned timer. If it does move but stops at a specific spot,What position does it stop at?Are you in Australia? If so I can give you the contacts on where to purchase a timer. Please reply and I can guide you on how to get the correct timer number for your machine.Looking forward to your reply.
Cold water hose is not
Remove the hose connection from the machine and check if you have sufficient water pressure and flow. If that is ok, check the screen on the inlet valve for debri and clean that out.

My HOOVER 600MB COMMENCES CYCLE
if you can manually move the tiimer and have all the functions of the machine work to expectation then it would definetly be the timer make sure you perform a test and check the wiring to the timer to assure that you do have power going to the timer before you go ahead and buy the timer sometimes you may just have a loose connection at the timer that may have came loose and is barely making a connection so check your connections and assure that you have power first hope this helps
Hi there, I need to get a filter bag..

Hoover 200m 4.5kg washing machine will not use
You can fix one of two ways.
1/ replace the cold water solenoid valve
This is located directly behind the cold water hose fitting
at the top of the machine
Remove the small electrical control panel by removing the
three small screws.
2/ If you only need the cold wash program you can save
money by swapping the vaves around. They are easy to
remove and they are held in place by a plastic insert which
lifts up to remove them .
Make absolutely sure that your Machine is disconnected from the mains supply before you replace these valves

Hoover 700LB Stops at the wash during the wash
It sounds like the timer is bad. Try another cycle like delicate, or normal, or heavy duty. If everything works on another cycle then it is probably your timer. If it doesn't work and you have the same problem, then it is probably an expensive fix. Best of luck
I have a Hoover 550 MB Top Loader washing machine
Will the unit spin if you manually turn the timer dial to spin? If so, remove power, remove the clock motor from the timer, and inspect the clock and mating timer gearing for debris or damaged gear teeth. At the worst, replace the timer. You may be able to scrape or file the damaged teeth so that the timer will progress.
