Hoover Nextra HNF 2137 Front Load Washer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
No water going into machine
It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.
If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.
Check this link to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html
Machine wont sart
Your door lock/latch is broken, this is a common issue with front loading washing machines and the only way to fix it is to replace the door switch.
Hoover HNF 2137 - Machine
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'....but did not drain them...'
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter- so many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

The machine fills with water then lights start
the problem is simply when loading clothes u check the amount of water the machine can collect cos some machines don t take much water while washing or u call ur technician 2 come and check it
No power at machine
no power at machine is the fuse in plug ok. if ok switch off remove plug take off lid and just look at connections from mains cable are they ok and not burned then if ok look at the main pcb make sure connections are tight door switches on these machines were fairly trouble free so i can only advise you on the basics of fault finding with the limited info hope this helps
Hoover Nextra HNF2127 washing machine. Lights flashing at finish
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. The start and pre-wash usually flash due to a clogged
drain hose or the water pump. You’ll need to drain the water out of the
base and also check to see if there's something
stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually
located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine). If the
drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a
frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Please
do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.
Thanks

Water not draining away after cycle
Hello Friend,
It seems like your machine is neither Pumping nor spinning, that is why it is unable to drain the water out. In this case you should check the pump. Your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so you need to replace it. To check the
pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually.
If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.
Give it a check. Do get back to us if you need any further assistance.
Thanks
Delay start light is flashing and door will not
It is your control board that has failed. It is time for a new machine. It is a common problem. If it's under warranty get it fixed but the machine is starting to wear out.
Unplug and wait for a clicking sound this will be the electronic door lock releasing.
Power on and off
This is either a problem with the drain pump being open circuit or partially faulty. If the pump is okay, there is a problem with the control board. The board should be covered under the major parts warranty but he pump isn't (cheap anyway). Check the pump on the drain cycle first
Wont drain and start light and pre wash light
HI, check the following to address this issue.
1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).
2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.
**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line
Machine not draining
Can you hear the pump running just before the spin cycle, if so then I suspect a blockage in the filter or pump hose, If not and machine is quiet then it could be a faulty water pump or PCB board and you would have to call a technician.

Not really a solution that will cure your problem but a suggestion that may help.
My wife had the same problem but then switched to using the "In tub" 2 in 1 liquid tabs.
She uses Bold 2-1 liquitabs and the clothes smell great and there is no need to use the dispenser drawer at all.
I believe there are other brands on the market if you don't like Bold.
Like I said, not a solution but more of a work around.
Hope it helps.
Bad leak
Your first option before anything else is to remove the dispenser tray entirely and clean it thoroughly.
Also clean inside where the fits before replacing.
Quite often there is a build up of old fluids or powders that have congealed and blocked up the inside.
Good luck and thanks for using FixYa.
Mike.
Draining & Spinning
I had a problem and when they took the back off. Underwire bra had got jammed through drum holes which stopped it spinning and water issues. I hope this might help.
