Refrigeration light is on, not making any ice.(scotsman cm3)

There can be a few reasons why your Scotsman DCE33PA1SC ice machine is not making ice, even though it has power and water:
  1. Thermostat: The thermostat controls the temperature inside the machine. Make sure that the thermostat is set to the proper temperature and that it is functioning properly.
  2. Water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. Make sure that it is functioning properly and that it is not clogged with debris.
  3. Water pump: The water pump is responsible for circulating water through the ice maker. Make sure that the pump is functioning properly and that it is not clogged with debris.

  5. Control board: The control board controls the operation of the ice maker. Make sure that the control board is properly connected to the power source and that it is not damaged. It's possible that the control board is malfunctioning, which can cause the ice maker to not work correctly.
  6. Refrigerant levels: low refrigerant levels can cause the evaporator to freeze over, which can affect the ice production. Make sure the refrigerant level is adequate.
It's best to consult the user manual or to contact a professional technician to diagnose the problem, as the issue could be caused by a number of things and it's important to troubleshoot it correctly

Scotsman ice machine flashing 2 red lights cme256ws

The blinking of 2 red lights on a Scotsman ice machine CME256WS typically indicates an error code. The most common cause of this error code is low water pressure or a problem with the water supply. You should check the water pressure by using a gauge on the incoming water line. The pressure should be between 20 and 120 psi. If the water pressure is adequate, you may have a problem with the water inlet valve, which is responsible for letting water into the ice maker. If that is the case, you may need to replace the valve. You can also check for clogs in the water filter or water supply line, and ensure that the water shut-off valve is open. If all the above steps are done and the problem persists, It is recommended to call a qualified technician to inspect the machine and diagnose the issue.

How often should you clean the ice maker?

it depends on the quality of water in your water supply. If you get scale buildup easily, you need to descale and sanitize it as often as each month, if scale buildup is minimal, descale and sanitized every 6 monthes. I always nickel safe scale remover and calgon sanitizer. If in doubt, consult the manufactures recommendations.

Ice machine harvest two times and shut off

These unit time freeze time and harvest times and keeps track of them. If your freeze time exceeds 35 minutes or harvest time exceeds 3 minutes, it will place unit in lockout. The biggest cause for excessive time to harvest is the harvest valve not functioning properly, and undercharged unit or a dirty condenser. The most probable cause is a dirty condenser. Under charged units can be determined by checking compressor outlet temperature while running, it should be 150 to 190 degrees depending on atmospheric conditions present. If it is harvest valve, the downstream temperature will stay at or near compressor discharge temperature. It should cool down to ambient temperature in a few minutes after freeze cycle begins.

Water keeps running on cm3

Replace the ice thickness sensor hanging on the front of the evaporator plate. when you turn the power off and back on factory default is to go to harvest first. if the ice thickness sensor dose not sense the ice is thick enough then it will not go into a harvest. before you replace the sensor take it loose from the evap plate and drop it into the water sump tray if it goes into a harvest then replace the board. if not then replace the sensor.

How do i get a service manual?

The bin sensor eyes need to be cleaned or replaced. First remove the front cover then remove the white plastic ice deflector shield. Now you should be looking at the evaporator plate look down you will see the water sump tray full of water in that tray is a black plastic grate that when the ice is harvested it drops and hits the tray keeping it from falling in sump tray PULL it OUT. now just behind the sump where the ice falls through opening on the left and right sides is where the ice full bin eyes are you can pull them out side ways there is plenty of wire so you can pull them up to where you can clean them with a soft cotton cloth with scotsman cleaner. Now for a manual goggle scotsman service manuals you can get a PDF file.

How to change cube size control

If I remember correctly on the control board there is two prong bias setting you can change. It looks like three prongs side by side and depending on where you place the jumper between the prongs you have up to 7 cube setting adjustment you can make. You can go to Searspartsdirect.com and get a manual for this I think with your model number. The manual has the appropriate jumper positions. I have seen some unit the jumper positions were actually listed on the control board itself.
