I signed up as your thread is one of only a few visible in a google search for YSP-1 max volume static burst fault. I just changed capacitor C73 from 330uf to 470uf (I ordered a pack of a load of 50V 470uf caps off amazon and a cheap soldering iron kit) This is the first thing I ever soldered in my life and it was so easy. Screws off the backplate, screws off the 2 little plates on top of the soundbar, screws out of the silver frame and flip it out up and towards you to reveal the power supply and C73 is right there well labelled with a line on one side indicating which way to solder the cap, snip off the old cap and solder the new one on. Perfect fix for all static and power on issues on YSP-1!!!!

Check for any loose solder terminals at its main power amp section circuit. Contact any service technician. Electro help

I have the sony KDL 46 EX720 and got the code 2751 to work.

I tried out a few of the numbers that were posted and the "0000" number worked.

C515 ON THE MAIN POWER PCB (HAS 223 K 630HI PRINTED ON IT) HAS FAILED
Replace with a 22nf capacitor - Maplin part number N38CN
the new maplin part has a higher voltage rating and is bigger. it will need to be fitted with the leads extended with wire to get it to fit.

This is a common problem with these sets. This is either a faulty relay on the power board or some failed capacitor on the main board. You need to open the unit to repair it. I doubt if it would be economical to send the unit to Yamaha. You need to catch a local repair guy who could check either/both items on this unit.The relay for this unit is ' not ' easily available in the market.

Rightly you have given the set to the authorised service centre as it is under warrranty but then lack of spares is a sub clause that is put into the warranty agreement of all companies- it says repairs subject to availablity of spares. Now hat do we do when the sole authority says so. The first thing you need to do is to lodge a complaint with the area customer service centre.Also make a complaint to the consumer protection centre. They are responsible to get this sorted immediately or replace your set without delay. Unless you keep up the pressure the matter may be delayed. If Sony needs to save their customer from going public , the action will be faster.They cannot expect to delay a repair for an electronic unit which can become obsolete in short time. We have the same issue. I owned the unit for about 2 1/2 years before it quit working. The Yamaha YSP-1 has been sitting on my shelf for the last 2 years now collecting dust. If anyone finds a solution, please let me know

if a cide is not listed for this do a code search with the remote, check your user manual for code search procedure, you may find that you can't use this remote with the sound system..

What is on the menu?
There is a setup feature that allows you to send a test to each speaker and the TEST button on the remote does that. Please cycle through the test button to see if it goes away

I expect there is either a power supply issue or one of the amplifiers has failed causing over current to turn it off as a protection to the power supply.
