Fisher & Paykel washers do not have lint filters inside the tubs as they are designed to drain away any debris from the wash during the drain cycle.

Constantly leaks water into machine

The relay that shuts off the water, or the mechanism that senses the level of the water, and then shuts off the flow of the water needs to be checked, fixed or replaced. If you're competent to do all that, and have the necessary tools, all the better. If not, them a repairman must be called in....should be fairly cheap to fix.

Hi, washer model GWC12 fisher and paykel. machine goes beeps and only long wash and second rinse cycle orange lights is on.tried off power from the wall and follow every steps that is mention in the m

It is showing fault code 130 which is a RPS or Rotor position sensor fault, This is located on the motor stator under the washing machine, Most often this is caused by water leaking past the seal and onto the motor. You need to check for signs of leaking or moisture and as long as there isn't any you may get away with just replacing the RPS. Please note that RPS faults can also cause damage to the electronic motor controller module which won't be able to be diagnosed until you have replaced the RPS.

Water will not drain out

Hi just read your posting.1st you need to drain some of the water by hand using a small bucket or pot ,enough so you can lean the machine back to look under the machine. If you have the old style of pump you will see a red or black fan under the machine front right. If you have this pump turn the fan a few times to loosen it.The fan should turn freely. Then put it back on its feet and select a spin cycle and push start. It should start to drain and then spin. Please reply on how you got on or if you have the new type of pump which has no fan.Looking forward to your reply.

(flashing lid lock plus beeping ended up turning

Hi, well this usually happens when the main controller unit fails, if you want to DIY then you first must obtain a service manual, and work through the troubleshooting steps, and use the manual to then obtain the parts numbers for spares. But however most likely the very best thing to do will be to get it looked at by a professional, call in a pro, and ONLY first ask for a "Quote" as to potential costings and go from there, this really is the best course of action.

Not getting power, I believe

first you need to check your breaker box to see if the breaker has tripped. if breaker hasnt tripped you will need a tester (you can get a cheap one at the hardware store) unplug the machine and use the tester to see if you have 110 volts of power at the outlet. be sure and read the meter instructions carefully as the potential for injury is there. if you have current there then you have to go inside the control panel of the machine. if there is no power at the outlet then you have a problem with the wires in the house or a bad outlet. at this point you will need a professional to check it out.

Washing machine will fill with water but then

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the washer fills but does not agitate or spin then you can check if the lid switch is fine. You can jump start the lid switch by connecting both the wires with each other or use the third wire to act as jumper between the two. After this if the problem is solved then replacing lid switch is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

My fisher and paykel top loader iw812 will not

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Machine wont spin. it tries

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
This is a very common problem with top load machines
Direct Drive Washer Motor Coupler Problem Discussion coupler-exploded.gif couplers on direct drive washers fail almost more than any other part. When it fails it will prevent the washer from agitating and spinning but it will still drain as the pump is connected directly onto the motor. If the water is draining, the motor is functioning properl this is what it looks like
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOURS IS DIFFERENT OK IF SO I CAN GET YOU THE RIGHT DIAGRAM tbirdfan1_13.gif

I am getting an error

Hi,

This is basket disengage fault.

The floating basket has not engaged even though
the pressure sensor indicates that the tub is empty.
Check that the clutch or the pressure tube is not
blocked or crushed.

If you are still getting the error message, i would rather advise you to call a pro before continuing the washer.

If you do not see this message, you could use the washer you were doing earlier.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My washing machine was skippings cycles then all

The fault relates to a failure of the main program contrroller unit . It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.
