VOLUME CONTROL ON MY RC-974
Hi,
It seems that there has been an issue with IR sensor. In most of the cases, investing in new remote is a wise option. However, as you have already changed the batteries, few more simple steps you could follow :-
1. Try to use the remote from close.
2. Clean the battery connectors. Most of the times, you might find dirt and debris out there.
3. Dissemble the remote. Clean the sensor and the keypad and then reassemble it.
If you wish to repair it, i would be glad to help. However, as i said the cost of repair is usually more than investing in new remote .
I hope i have been helpful.
Thank You!!
Suddenly it won't finish loading a disc. and even
It is possible that the detect sensors are malfunctioning result in the false trigger of the input detector. So in the first place open the front loading section and clean up the CD take up section. Notice the optocoupler sensors which are the cd detect sensors that could be the culprit in this case. Use a multimeter to check for action on the sensor by blocking and confirming for changes in voltage. If so replace the unit. If not you must also check the mechanism for possible misalingment. remove carefully the mechanism and reset after cleaning. Get help if you are not familiar but be very delicate to do this job if inexperienced. Hope you try with care. Good day
Ihave a Denon AVR-2808C1 Home
From my experience, most of the Denon remotes are universal and do work with each other. If anything, make sure it has a 30 day warranty so you can always exchange it or get a refund.
No picture when hooking component through
with Denon you have to go into the menu and "assign" the inputs.
You have to select if you are using HDMI, s-video composite etc.
If your unit has upconverting remember that it will upconvert a s-video signal to HDMI but not the other way around.
HDMI is a digital signal composite, s-video etc are analog therefore you could not use the HDMI output from your PS3 but then use the red, blue green composite outputs from your receiver to run to your tv.
We have a Denon DVD
Is this a new hook-up? Or have you recently lost sound?
Check your DVD player menus and check to see if it's set for audio over HDMI and not the S/PDIF port.
Some players have an automatic detection for this. It can change just by the order in which you turn the devices off.
Another issue is found in the cables themselves. Although HDMI hardware seems pretty bullet proof There is always a possibility of crappy cables. Try wiggling them to see if has any effect on the sound.
If these fail please respond back with your Denon model # and TV make and model.
Hope it helps.
I have a denon receiver with mt sat boc and tv
HDMI won’t pass any signal when the receiver is off. I don’t think you use the same connections before sending receiver for repair. You can connect HDMI directly to TV, and use optical input to receiver for audio only.
