You would be better off to have a shop check it out. Try unplugging it for a while just to reset everything.

Same thing for me. TV just turned off one day and won't come back on. LED flashes red. Someone said it's because a cooling fan went out. If I can't find someone to fix it I'll take it apart and tinker myself. 32" with dvd built in was barely over a year old.

Check and replace damaged component/s in it audio out put circuit.

When you have the red light that blinks four times on the 50" Magnavox Plasma Model 50MF231D/37, you should look for the capacitors on the power board in the center of the of the TV. Look for two 3300uf, 10V, 105c capacitors that have a build up of pressure that has caused the top of the capacitor to look rounded instead of the flat top that will be on all of the other capacitors. Changing these two capacitors fixed the problem of the TV not coming on.
I had more trouble finding the capacitors than changing them. I could not find them locally so I went to an on-line electronics supply store where they were $1.65 each and $8.99 to ship.

The Akai is Samsung brand--have you when using that input that does not work gone into the menu and "selected" it and or highlighted it?

Hi Tamara,Mosty likely when you turned it off from the wall,it must blown the fuse because of the way it was shut off suddenly.If you can open it up if not than take it to a qualified Tech to get it fixed.thanks,G..
