Hi,

Your TV has a long board that is called the LCD inverter board. I think this board is dead.

This long LCD inverter board's only job is to provide the TV LCD screen panel to have a back-light to the LCD screen panel to produce a picture.

Try websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish long LCD inverter board for the replacement.

Do you still have this TV?What does it do?Not power on?Power on,and then off again?You shouldn't have to replace the whole board,unless either it is beyond repair,or you don't have one to start with.I just got done fixing an Akai LCT2660 that had four bad capacitors on the power board.Works perfect now.Hope this helps.Thank You very much!

It has a weak prower supply , replace the elctrolytic caps, and that should take care of your problem.

As you do not give any model number the answer will be of a general nature.
If it has 3 different crt tubes inside then the fault is with the convergance board or setting. this is not a job for the general public and should be looked at by a competant service engineer.

Call 800-726-4405 - But the part may not be available - request an exchange through the manufacturer. By law the manufacturer must provide parts for 5 years.

If the power supply outputs are good! Then I would say the back light inverter is bad! If the screen stays black and does not come on.

You can buy a HDMI cable at any local electronics store. Walmart, Radio Shack, Sears just about anywhere. You can also buy them online. Search HDMI.

that sounds like your LCD controller, since the LCD screen is so big, they will "split" the screen into 2 smaller screens, otherwise it would be so outrageously expensive to have one big massive lcd controller. Your lcd controller is most likely a two-in-one card though, meaning that there are 2 controllers on one board. You'll more than likely need a new controller card for your tv.

When you turn the TV on and the color is off, if you were to bring up the TV's onscreen menu, is it in color or is it black & white too?
This will help determine if the issue is video board related or if it is the input/output board.  Since the problem is sporatic, it could be a connection issue and service is likely required.

I bought mine off Ebay.Radio Shack has some,but they didn't have the ones I needed,and they are more expensive.I hope this helps.If you have any other questions,please let me know.Thank You very much!
