Maytag Neptune MAH9700 Front Load Washer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
I occasionally have a sewer gas smell near my washer. But after I run the washer, the smell will go away for a few days. What could the problem be?
Hi JoeIs that pex pipe on the right your water supply to the washer?Your sewer gas smell I believe can be eliminated by putting a P trap in the drain PVC line.(EDIT)Where the drain hose from the washer hooks into the PVC pipe is NOT airtight which would allow the sewer gas back into the laundry room!(EDIT EDIT)If there is a P-trap in your outflow pipe, the only place left for grey water to collect (and stink) would be between the washer and where the waste hose goes into the drain. We've had to use a little bit of bleach on occasion when we haven't used the washer for a bit.Hope this helps-Steve
The LE error code keeps flashing why?
LE means level error. The water fill timer timed out before there was enough water in the machine to clean the clothes. Try this:
- Turn the hot and cold water supply taps, located at the end of the fill hoses, as far as they will go toward the "Open" position.
- Move the washing machine away from the wall, and examine the hot and cold water pipes for kinks, twists or other obstructions.
- Unscrew the fill hoses at the washing machine, and inspect the small plastic screens inside for signs of an obstruction.
- Check the water pressure in your home; a reading lower than 30 psi might cause the fill times to extend beyond the time the washing machine is programmed to wait. Slow flowing faucets and shower heads are a sign of low water pressure.
- Call for service.
Washers empties water but wont ring out clothes
Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design. Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and
Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.
Transmission or clutch assembly not engaging due to going out or slipping.
Water loads up but does not wash nor spin but does drain
No agitation or spin? try these:
Motor Coupling If the washer won't spin or agitate the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and
Drive Belt If the washer won't spin or agitate, check the drive belt. If the belt is broken or if it isn't tight on the pulleys the washer won't spin or agitate properly.
Drive Motor If the washer won't spin or agitate the drive motor might be defective. This is not common. Check all of the other related parts to this symptom before replacing the motor. If the motor is visibly burned out or physically damaged, replace it.
Stator Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the stator assembly might be burned out. The stator is essentially one half of a motor, it interacts with the tub by creating a strong electro-magnet. If the stator burns out the washer won't spin or agitate. Check the stator for continuity. This part is often misdiagnosed.
Transmission or clutch assembly not engaging due to going out or slipping.
Door or Lid Latch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the lid switch assembly might be defective.
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly If the washer won't spin or agitate the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design.
Motor Control Board he motor control board provides power to the motor as well as direction and force. If the motor control board is defective the washer may not work at all or function properly.
How to fix when getting NF from maytag neptune tl washer code
Hello Joanna;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician. I do still work at my trade on the side.
The "NF", means no fill. Check the following:
1.) Go to No Fill Test.
Enter / Exit Service Mode
To enter Service Mode press the Help and Back keys for
three seconds or until the control beeps. The motor
speed will be displayed when started (motor not running
display will be 0). Diagnostic codes will be shown and the
System Check or Service utility can be started. The
present state of the machine will not be changed. (i.e.,
the current cycle in progress will not be interrupted and
only the display will change).
2.) Check to make sure water supply is turned on fully.
Normal water level is 1 to 7 inches inside the spinner.
3.) Check electrical circuit and connections at the water
valve, and pressure switch.
4.) Check for kinks in inlet hoses.
5.) Check for clogged inlet screens.
6.) Visually check hot and cold separately for fill.
7.) Check for low water pressure. May be dependent on
pressure entering home. Variations may occur due to
usage in the home at the time machine is used.
8.) Check for frozen pipes and hoses.
Chances are you have a bad fill valve and sensor. I can repair this for you. I need to check the component with my Ohm meter. My charge would be $40.00 for the part and $50.00 for the diagnostic and labor.
I will not charge your my former Sears Home Services Charge of $79.00 to show up at your home + Part price x 2 + $150.00 labor.
