We just moved our Neptune
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Absolutely!
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal suspension is malfunctioning.
Good luck,
John C

Now Excessive time to wash.
I suspect the heating element is caked up with limescale and is therefore inefficient. Overnight leave the contents of a few packets of proprietary limescale remover together with 2 kettles of boiling water in the drum. After spinning the mix out try a wash again and, if necessary do the same thing again!
Good luck,
John C

Fab.softener disp. does not work?.....Chris
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
It could be that it is the conditioner/softener tray which needs a thorough clean by following these guidance notes, paying particular attention to the sentences in
BOLD ;-0)
-------------------------------------
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
- Top catch-
push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
- release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
- lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
One of the above should enable you remove it
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this does not work, pull out the dispenser drawer far enough to be able to just see the softener tray, select the (final?) rinse and check that water is entering the tray. If it isn't there is a fault with the water distribution and an engineer call is required ;-0(
Good luck,
John C

Sudsy water is leaking from
Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The tub seal is the most common thing that causes Maytag washers to
leak. This is unfortunate because the tub seal is an expensive repair
job and not one I would suggest doing yourself. I say this because it is
complicated and requires special tools to perform this job. To check if
the tub seal is bad, first remove the front panel by removing the two
screws from the bottom of the front panel. If you have a newer model,
prize the bottom clips with a screwdriver. Then pull the bottom of the
panel until the top clips release. Then start the washer and watch for a
leak around transmission where it goes through the tub. If it does leak
then the tub seal is bad and needs replacing. If you have the tool or
willing to buy it
click here for instructions on how to replace the tub seal.
If the tub seal doesn't, leak you probably found the leak while performing this test.

Maytag Neptune front loader keeps displaying
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
That normally means that there are more suds than there should be! It then makes the water level sensing difficult for the machine. Washers often carry out another rinse to clear them.
Are you using the recommended amount of powder/soap?
Is it possible that there is water still left in the machine even now?
As a matter of course I would now check the drain filter and motor if it has not been done recently. It's something which should be done on a regular basis anyway and you certainly will do no harm!
Here are my complete, general pre-typed guidance notes for checking filters and motors ;-0)
-------------------------------------
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Remove the back access panel. On the bottom of the tub you will see the drain boot. Remove the boot from the tub and check for any blockage. Also, while you have the boot removed, check up in the tub for any small pieces of clothing that may be hung up in there.

I have a brand new maytag 4000 series front loader
This sounds like the transportation support rods have not been removed. A new machine will have two or more steel rods supporting the drum to prevent damage during transportation. These rods MUST be removed before the machine is used, otherwise the dampers that prevent excessive vibration will not be effective.
The user manual should provide instruictions for removal of the rods. They are normally accessed from the rear of the machine and usually will be labelled so that it is clear how to remove them. They pass througn the chassis of the machine and should be unscrewd and pulled out from the rear.

What does the code E2 mean?
a button had been pushed and held down for more than 30 seconds. The E2 shows that there is a motor problem. This can be caused by having an extra heavy load in the machine so take some out and try it. It can also be cause by any of the buttons being stuck so make sure they are all 'free'. If this fails then you will need to have a new motor and call a repair man unless you can do the job yourself if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank when our chat has concluded how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again Rick

Fabbric sortner wont drain in our maytag neptune
The fabric softener compartment siphon tube may be clogged causing the softener not to be dispensed even it has been diluted. Remove the softener compartment's siphon cover and clean it thoroughly. It is recommended to clean every dispenser compartment. Also clean the dispenser drawer cavity to remove clogs from the dispenser drawer fill holes. But if the dispenser drawer does not dispense the softener including the detergent and the bleach, check if they are being diluted. If not, check the dispenser fill hoses for clogs.

My towels smell and I have to rinse at least two
Run a load of whites (or with no clothes) with bleach to kill any mildew or bacteria build-up in the washer. If you have your own well, install an anti-bacterial and odor removal filter in the water line.
The first time you wash towels after doing this, pre-soak the towels in water with a "color-safe" bleach to get any little stinkers hiding in them. Also, disinfect your towel storage and any place where they are hung after use, and after that make sure the towels are dried out before they are thrown into the laundry basket unless they are going to the washing machine immediately.
