I have an asko washer that does not dry. how i fix

Hi,

I'm going to assume against my better judgment you mean the clothes are not spun out but are soaking wet. Since Asko washers do not dry the clothes as some all in one units do, you likely have a problem with either overloading, too much detergent, wrong type of detergent, an obstruction in the pump i.e coins, buttons, sock, undies etc. (not allowing the spin cycle to occurr) or a faulty drive motor/brushes.

Unfortunately there's no easy answer without more info. consider these...

1) have you operated this machine before ?
2) Do you use "HE" detergent
3) have you put very different types of garments in together, i.e. towels and cottons, denims and polyester ?
4) does the water drain out ?
5) is the unit stable on its legs/on the floor ?

there are many factors that can create the symptom you're describing, as these are just a few possibilities.

let us know here if any of these are possible and we can go from there.

p.s.
a model number would be helpful as well.

Fabric softener not draining

Follow this steps then you will be free from that problem.
* Has the drain hose been put flat on the floor?
* Is the drain hose clogged with lint?
* Is the drain hose kinked?
* Is any part of the drain hose higher than 20 cms from the floor lever?
* Is the extension drain hose longer than 3m?
* Is a narrow drain hose being used?

If you are happy with my answer then rate me.Thanks for your question.

Asko W6021 Front Load Washer

The drain access is at the bottom left of the washer. Insert a screw driver in the right side of the cut-out and and gently pry open. Open the drain pump. You will need a small container and a towel to help catch the water that will be coming out. After letting all the water out, clean out any objects in the drain pump. After cleaning out drain pump, put everything back together and restart washer.

We have a pin trap

Here's How:
  1. Exterior
Wipe down the exterior of the washing machine with vinegar or your favorite all-purpose cleaner.

  2. Tub
Pour two cups of vinegar or lemon juice into the tub, and run the washing machine through a complete cycle on the hottest setting to remove odors, stains and detergent build up.

  3. Lid/Door
Scrub around the edge of the lid/door with vinegar to remove mildew and detergent build up.

  4. Bleach and Fabric Softener Dispensers
Remove the bleach and fabric softener dispensers, and scrub them in the sink. Then, dry them thoroughly and return them to the machine.

Tips:
  1. To prevent mildewing, leave the lid open after you finish a load to allow the washing machine to dry out.
  2. Commerical fabric softeners leave build up in the machine. of choice, and the inside of your washing machine won't need to be cleaned as frequently - if at all.

It wont spin or open

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. The door may be locked because of the lid switch. You need to see if it needs adjusted. It may be bad. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging. I want to thank you for reading and I hope this helps you.

Why does My washer have

The odor that you are experiencing may be from the growth of mold. Inside the washer, some small pools of water may be left standing and is harboring mold spores. Even though you may operate the washer regularly, the mold spores are not being washed away.I have a couple of tips that might help to eliminate odor issues in your washing machine. First, and the most effective in my research is to, leave the lid, or door to the unit open. By leaving the door open, it promotes air circulation and evaporation of standing water. The reduction in odor, will occur quickly and dramatically.

My second tip is to run the washer empty for a quick rinse cycle. Add an entire cup of bleach at the start of the cycle. The bleach is effective at destroying organisms, such as mold and bacteria. However, running it once will not be completely effective. I suggest pouring another cup of bleach into the wash tub, after the cycle has completed. This will leave bleach as the standing pool and should prevent the growth of mold or bacteria. However, if you do this, before doing a load of laundry you should run an empty rinse cycle again, to avoid damage to the clothes from the bleach left standing in the wash tub.

I need manual parts, you have this.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry, this forum is not able to supply any type of manual, installation instructions, electrical or schematic diagrams direct; it's just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home and from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer repair manual' and you may be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct but some will only supply to their own engineers ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Water won't heat up. element

Hi

Open the rear of the machine and check the heater connectors that are on the lowest part of the outer tub. Check the connectors with a multimeter if there are 220 Volts. If there AREN'T 220 V the culprit is not the heating element but may be a relay. If there are 220 V but there is no heating, unplug the washer and check the resistance on the two heater connectors. If the resistance is virtually infinite the element is broken and need to be replaced.

Washing finished it's cycle and now the door won't

If there is still water in the washing machine above a certain level, it will not allow the door to be opened.
To open the door, Open the hatch to the drain pump at the lower left front of the washing machine. If there is water in the machine and you can't put machine in drain, then you can detach the drain hose and drain the water into a container.
make sure that power is disconnected.
With the hatch open, remove the screws holding the red plastic handle in place. Pull the handle and the door will open. Put the handle back into its slot and put screws back in place.

Check the drain pump while you're there to make sure it is free of foreign objects

Can't open door of ASKO W6883

If nothing else works, the washer door can be opened as follows:

This must only be done in an emergency

if the machine's glass door does not open automatically when the program has finished.

First check that there is no water left in the machine. If there is water left in the machine and it is not possible to run the Drain program, empty the machine by using the drain hose.

Make sure that the main power switch is off and that the plug has been re- moved from the wall socket.

You will find the emergency opener for the glass door in the double sealed bag.

Open the glass door by putting the opener in the slot to the right of the lock on the door. Push the opener up or down and the door will open.

Door will not open

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my guidance notes for checking both the drain filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

My asko regardless of selected wash program stops

When your rinse cycle does not work it is your outlet filter that is clogged. If this is a front loader the small door is in the bottom front side of machine. Be prepared for some water to come out when u open the door. Unscrew and clean out filter and refit.

Also please note
with the Asko there are several possible things that can interupt the cycle either during wash or drain/spin. Have you checked the pump insert/button trap for debris or obstruction of any kind ? ( below main door to the left ) Are you using "he" ( lo-sudsing ) detergent ? Does the machine provide any error code, i.e. If it's a mechanical timer model does it stop at "C" or "S" or if electronic a symbol in the display ? Will it complete a cycle without any items in the basket ( empty ) ? Will the unit rotate in both directions and will it spin if you try both parts of that specific cycle ? This will help determine if the problem is with the drive motor brushes.
