if you've replace the brushes, and smells... are you sure you got the correct brushes. If too close, especially if there were already some bad windings... could have physically caught some. Burning smell very bad in DC motor. The internal windings could be melting, which means the end of that motor. I would either look for another motor if you're so inclined... or new washer time. However in looking at the model you reference, it would seem you got a very good run out of that unit. If you can afford it, it might be time to say goodbye to the old friend and move on.
