How to Replace the Battery of 590 plantronics?
17 jun 2010
Thank you safauoc! I am going to look into the matter of replacing the battery on the now discontinued and very expensive Plantronics 590a.
It came as a very big disappointment to learn that this headset is not compliant with Bluetooth V2.0 and the Blutooth Handsfree Profile. To get it to work with Skype, I had to purchase the Plantronics BUA-100 dongle - which was also very very expensive.
Now the battery is evidently failing - and the 590a's range is getting shorter and shorter.
I do not think that Plantronics has managed this device's roll-out in a competant manner.
In recent days my headset (590A) has only been
Your headset can be used as stereo headphones or a wireless microphone for a bluetooth enabled device like a cell phone or a computer. When you plug the headphones into a device with the 3.5mm jack the headset automatically turns into stereo headphones and disables the microphone(headphone mode). It sounds like whatever device your headset is connected to via bluetooth is using the wireless microphone protocol where sound only comes through the one speaker and the microphone is on(microphone mode). The bluetooth protocol settings of your device may have been changed accidentally. You will need to go into the bluettoth settings of your device you are using with your headset and change the protocol. If it is a cell phone you will need to go into the bluetooth settings in the settings menu. If it is a computer your can adjust the bluetooth settings in the control panel.
You can download the pdf file of your instruction manual for your headset

I hope this was helpful and let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for using FixYa
Cant get the pulsar 590
I finally solved this problem. Buy a CSR v4.0 enabled bluetooth dongle
on ebay, plug it in to a usb slot. Right click the bluetooth icon in
system tray and select "Settings" and tick "Allow bluetooth devices to
find this computer." Then click "add a device",
turn on your bluetooth headphones and the headphones will show up in
bluetooth devices. Add the device, then right click your speaker icon in
the system tray, select playback devices. From the menu, select the
headphones and set them as default. I did this
and they work perfectly. Furthermore when I turn the headphones off,
the sound goes back to normal speakers - no other adjustments made. Turn
the headphones on again and the sound defaults to them. I noticed on an
earlier failed install of the headphones when
they did appear in Devices and Printers that the drivers were CSR
something enabled. I did try some cheaper dongles and the actual
Plantronics USB dongle(expensive) to no avail. Get a CSR 4.0 enabled
device. Mine cost 6.00AU total.
It doesnt take charge and its not coming on
Hi,Have you manged to solve this problem? I too have this headset (P590E) and eventhough it switches on, the batteries have drained and will not charge, when plugged in no lights appear. Thanks
People can't hear me. I recently go t a new phone
i don't know about voice tubes but microphones or the circutry in the head set could have gone bad via vibrations knocking some thing loose or maybe based upon enviromental conditions certaint enviroments can cause corosion which also can cause many electronics to go bad. like coastal enviroments where it is very humid and salty.
How to replace the voice tube on pulsar 590a?
gently pull the remainder of the tube out of the socket (pulling in a straight line from the headset as to not snap it inside of the socket). It will provide a significant amount of resistance just before it comes out. Just wiggle it the tinest little bit to help it pop out.
To put the new one in, just line it up with the socket and with your fingers close to the end going into the headset (within 3/4" - to keep from snapping the new one in half). Gently push it in. Once it gets past the initial kind of pop then it should slide the rest of the way really easy (like it does when you push it in for storage).
Settin up bluetooth
Turn headset off.
Hold down the "phone" button on the headset.
Turn headset on.
Release "phone" button.
LED ring should be alternately flashing red/blue.
Voila.

On my plantronics cs540a i do not get a beep to let me know there is an incoming call.
If your Plantronics CS540A is not providing a beep to let you know there is an incoming call, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

- Check the mute button: Make sure that the mute button on the Plantronics CS540A or on your phone or computer is not engaged.

- Check the settings of your phone or computer, there could be an option to turn off the ringtones of the headset.
- Check the volume of the ringer, it should be set to an appropriate level.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance. It's recommended to check the user manual of your device before trying any of the above steps, as the process of troubleshooting the ringer can vary depending on the model and manufacturer.

Audio notification issue with BT600
Hi,
since re-pairing caused this, please perform another re-pair and check for the pre-sounds beeps again. I'm guessing that you might have accidentally skipped a step in your first attempt and it led to this sound occurring.
Thank you.
