Do you have a digital cam? Post a pic here if you can.
Is the flame fully surrounding the thermocouple?
If so, then remove the seat at the gas valve by wrenching it off the valve.
Look at the inside of the screw fitting you removed, wipe it clean with a dry cloth and re-install it.
When you get the fitting screwed down all the way by hand, DON'T DO THIS WITH A WRENCH, PAY ATTENTION HERE
FINGER TIGHT ONLY AT FIRST
When you get the fitting screwed down all the way by hand, then pick up your fitted wrench and snug the fitting in place by turning it 1/8 to 1/4 turn more, thereby making the connection to the thermocouple.
After the seat of the thermocouple is screwed down to the bottom by hand, using only your fingers at first, the connection to the micro-voltage is made by SNUGGING the fitting in place using approximately 1/8 turn.
Use approximately 1/8 to 1/4 turn with a fitted wrench. Try not to use an adjustable wrench and definitely do not use pliers or vice grips.
If after you've followed these directions up to 3 times and still cannot get the flame to light, you may likely need a replacement thermocouple.
Careful here, doing this while you don't have time or are in a hurry can do catastrophic damage to lots of stuff, including your wallet.
Let me know how you get on won't ya?
Take some video if you can. Who knows, you might become famous, like me!
