That depends on what's burning! Unplug it and search online for the manual for that thing, or call Bionaire's help line once you look that up.

If you can safely do it, and are unworried about warrantee conditions, open it out and find out what was burning and what caused it to burn; for example, note the scorchy motor and/or control components and remove the cat toy out of the fan blade. At this point you get to observe and perhaps test whether the motor (or transformer, etc.) was burnt to ruin or can still run with care and reassembly.

Bionaire bh3950 heater - tilt sensor reversed? Having problems with my unit. Main power toggle button stuck, so I ordered new on and replaced, switch works better, but still doesn’t power on. Removed front panel and located the safety tilt sensor. When in normal position (when weight bar contacts metal in sensor) no power, but when I manually lift the bar so there is no contact between the bar and the metal contact, power switch lights up and unit heats up fine. I even adjusted the thermostat control and lo/high toggle button on front while I had the tilt sensor manually lifted (in accompanying photo) and all these options worked fine. I’m not an electrical pro, but it seems like the tilt sensor function is reversed. As long as the unit is straight up, the wighted tilt bar sensor makes contact with metal connection on the sensor to complete the circuit and keep it in. If the unit tilts, the sensor bar becomes disconnected to the metal on the sensor and therefore should ‘break’ the circuit and shut off the unit for safety. Am I missing something here? Thank you in advance.

I DON'T KNOW. PLEASE CONSIDER SWITCHING THE WIRES SO SAFE BAR POSITION IS 'HEAT ON' AND TILTED BAR POSITION IS 'HEAT OFF'. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH ELECTRICITY AND MORESO WHEN MAKING REPAIRS WHERE THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE OF FUTURE FIRES. BE WELL.

These run very small motors with low "starting torque" If the fan hasn't been run for a long time, its possible that it has jammed up or got tight from just sitting there. Being careful, turn on the fan and spin it in its usual direction by hand, it should start running. If you cannot spin by hand, it may have seized up which will require you to strip and lube the motor. If you manage to get the fan spinning , let it run on high fan speed for an hour or so, it should free up and then be OK again. A small spray of WD40, CRC or similar spray can lube on the fan shaft where it disappears into the motor may assist.
