I have a frigidaire freezer

There are usually a few things that can cause this.
1. The controller sticks or has a defective terminal, Item 30 this link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5158184&diagram_id=893080#d893080
2. The termp control hangs intermittently Item F21 this link: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5158184&diagram_id=887262#d887262
3. The run capacitor is intermittent. Item 55 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5158184&diagram_id=893080#d893080
I do not think at this time you have a run capacitor problem as the symptom repeats over the course of a year.
Here is the problem with me troubleshooting from the computer... I can not read voltages when the unit has defrosted itself to find out whether the controller or the temp control has failed. If you really want to isolate it.. you must leave it in the stuck in the defrosted condition and read voltages to find out which of the 2 has terminated compressor power.

Just one more thing to keep in mind... this unit does not have a defrost control so if there is a brief power outtage what can be happening is.. the coolant system pressures are too high to restart the compressor. It only takes a little over 15 minutes of off timer for the system to cool and stabilize. The next time it happens.. just unplug the freezer for a bit over 15 minutes and see if it restarts right away. If it does... then you had a power outtage that lasted for under 10 minutes.
Seeing a PF code or flashing clock on any other household appliance should be your in home NOTICE to go check the freezer to see if the compressor is running.

There are things like appliance start delay timer that you can puurchase but they are quite expensive. Making the decision to have an appliance start delay timer boils down to the question: Are the contents of the freezer worth the cost of the roughtly $150.00 timer?"

Just so you know there is one more digit afther the last W in the model number; that number being anywhere from a 0 to 9.

THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE MAGNETIC

Good day,
Just go to your local appliance parts house. They will have the shims you will need. Remove the top bracket, open the door slightly, and lift the door off. Install the number of shims necessary, and reinstall.
If it has a cam style bracket that helps close the door, replace it as well. It just bolts on, once the door is removed.

My refrigerator's inner fan was

Two things could be wrong. Motor bad or frozen up with ice.The noise could have been
from frost building up and hitting the fan.If this is the case you need to defrost. Even self
defrost models do this some times..Empty freezer and run a hair blower (dryer) to put heat
in the compartment. this could take a while to do. over night...So run blower for a while to heat up the freezer then shut it off, close door .let sit It takes time for the heat to get to the ice.

if the motor is bad you will have to take inside cover off the access the motor

Just had a new upright Frigidaire freezer

Whenever you get a frig or freezer delivered it is best to wait at least 24hrs (some say 8 hrs) before you plug in. It maybe unknown to you if this was shipped to you in the laying down postion. If it was and you plugged in it will not work because laying down the oil migrated away from the compressor.

Other than that the freezer could have (possible chance but still possible) problems that are out of your control. If you brought it at a retail store you have at least 2 weeks to exchange. Do that a.s.a.p.
Dont bother trying to figure out just exchange!!!

hope this was helpful

Frigidaire Refrigerator model FRS22ZRH not

Hi,
Most fridges nowadays have little heaters inside that defrost the ice buildup that is most likely blocking the cold air from going to the fridge from the freezer.
That may be the problem or it could be a sensor or timer problem that is connected to the heater.
All of the cooling in refrigerators is normally done in the freezer compartment. A fan circulates cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator compartment to cool it. Most likely this fan has quit working.
In short the most common reason for the failure is a problem with the self defrost feature of the refrigerator. This will cause ice to form on the evaporator coils that are located in the back of the freezer compartment. Defrost failure is often caused by a failed defrost timer or adaptive defrost control depending on the model of the refrigerator. If the defrost timer is not the problem the defrost heater or the defrost heater thermostat can also be the problem. These are located in the freezer compartment and can be accessed by removing the back panel inside the freezer compartment. These can be checked for opens with a volt/ohm meter. There is a fan in the freezer compartment that blows the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator section to cool it. Make sure this fan is working.

Is it normal for the outsides to get very hot

No. If you feel the sides getting hot, it usually means that the ref. isn't cold enough inside. There us either an electric heater or a pass of the hot gas from the compressor around the edges of the doors as well as the mullion between them. If they feel hot, it's too warm inside.... Check the ice cream: It's the 1st to go.
