You can hold down the water dispenser because that would prime your water line inside your Frigidaire refrigerator. If that is unsuccessful I would verify to make sure the water supply is correctly installed and turned on. Also verify that your supply line is not kinked that could cause the water to not dispense.

If you have verified all that information is correct then I would check your water filter. Assure it is installed properly and not clogged or restricted. Once you have completed all those steps if you continue to not receive water I would suggest having a professional come out to the home for proper diagnose and repair of your refrigerator. -Matt

Error code 4 usually means that there is a communication failure with the main control board and damper. Base on the intensity of the issue; contact a professional technician to diagnose the unit to assist with the repair.

The leading cause of the refrirgerator not working while the freezer is is good,is a defrost problem,do you see a bunch of frost built up on the back wall inside of the freezer?? If yes ya see frost build up of frost in the freezer it will be a problem with the automatic defrost system. This tip i wrote covers what to check when it isn't defrosting by itself.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

That really cause the freezer not to freeze water because of that towel. Since you already remove the obstruction, just observe it and it will gonna freeze the water. Be sure that the door gasket magnet has tightly closed freezer door and no cold air is going outside. If there is, again it will takes longer to freeze water into ice.
Just observe and it will gonna go back to normal operation.

GENERIC Installation Instructions:

1. Unscrew the filter cup and dump out the water
2. Pull the old filter straight down and discard
3. Place the new filter in the filter cup
4. The end of the filter with the small o-ring should be up
5. Screw the filter cup (with filter) up onto the housing
6. The filter will self-align as the cup is tightened
7. Reset your 'change filter' light (if your fridge has one)

Resetting your filter change indicator light:

• Press and hold the reset button on the dispenser until the green light flashes (up to 15 seconds)
