Hi, the charging connector is broken, can it be replaced easily? If so , how do i get to it? the lap top is a TJ74-RB-050UK. Cheers

the dc jack (charging connector) can usually be bought for about 5 pounds or less from ebay. As far as fitting it goes it depends how confident you are. You will need to disassembel your laptop and remove the broken jack from the motherboard and then solder the new one on.

Take your current power-supply to any computer-store, so that they can match its size, and its connectors (both the number of connectors and the shape of the connectors), with a replacement power-supply unit.

    Desktop power turn on but

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem

computers need all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer ram make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets

    hope this helps you

I would try blowing the dust out of them first and make sure the power supply fan is working if this does not help I would replace the power supply first. Also blow the bust out of your cpu heatsink as well

No power with power supply plugged in

I would use a power supply tester to be certain. Voltage meters are a good indicator of weather or not the main power distribution points are working, but there are actually several points providing power.

If this still doesn't work, check the power at the battery terminals to see if the battery itself is getting any power sent to it.

Wat goes where from the power supply

on the newer psu's (power supply units) they are labeled. if they are not there is a basic rule. if it fits the socket without forcing it, use it there. there are many 4 pin plugs on a psu. these are all identical and all are exactly the same. they can be used anywhere a 4 pin connector is needed. newer psu's also have 6 pin, 8 pin and sata plugs. 6 pin and 8 pin are generally for video cards that are pcix sata pugs are for any sata drive, like a dvd or a hard disk. also there is a 24 pin or a 20 + 4 pin connector. this goes to the mother board.

Power switch light is on but no other power

No beeps are heard, no CPU fan is turning on, only blinking yellow light. This brand usually experiences this problem.
    1. First, check the power supply. Disconnect connectors from the board and make a jumper wire for the green wire to any black wire. If the PS fan does not spin then it's busted, else proceed below.
    2. Reconnect connectors except the one with 4 wires, 2 yellow and 2 black, then switch on. If CPU fan turns on then you have a bad processor.
    3. If the fan is still not turning on then check the USB port pins for short circuit.. disconnect it from the board and switch on.
    4. Do the same with other hardware connected to the board.
PS: The metallic casing of computers must be connected to the common ground of the power utility to protect it from stray currents that result to damage of sensitive components such as processors, memory and hard disks.

I need to know how to reboot my packard bell pc

Under the start menu there should be an option to shut down; restart; sleep. Use the restart option & it will start rebooting. If this does not work then close all your programs and hit ctrl+alt+del twice. This should start a reboot. Hope this helps.

    One of my computers says

system batery refers to a watch bater on the mother board used to keep time
it is as easy to eplace as a watch batery

Instructions Difficulty: Challenging Things You’ll Need:
    • Replacement Battery
    • Electronic Or Printed Backup Copy Of CMOS Settings
    • Backup Utility
    • Grounding Wrist Strap
    • Phillips Screwdriver
Restore the CMOS settings Step1If you've never made a backup copy of your CMOS settings (by using a backup utility program such as Norton Utilities or by printing a hardcopy out on paper), look them up in the printed documentation for your system or call the vendor of your PC. Restoring your CMOS settings from a backup will help determine whether the battery is the problem. Step2If you're using a backup utility to restore the CMOS settings, insert the emergency startup disk and follow the prompts. Step3Use the Setup utility that's built into your PC's BIOS to re-enter your CMOS settings manually. Restart your computer and wait for a screen that tells you what key or key combination to press for Setup. Step4If re-entering or restoring your CMOS settings solves your problem, then it's possible your battery is fine and the settings were corrupted by a virus or some other anomaly. If, however, your PC "forgets" the CMOS settings you just re-entered or restored after you turn the machine off (and then back on), you probably have a bad battery. Locate the dead battery Step1Turn off your PC. Step2Before opening your PC case, put on a grounding wrist strap to prevent discharging static electricity onto any sensitive components. In fact, throughout this procedure it's a good idea to frequently touch something metal (other than your PC) that's resting on the ground, to make sure you discharge any static electricity. Step3Open the PC. For most PCs, this entails removing a few screws with a Phillips screwdriver and sliding the case off. Step4Locate the battery on your PC's motherboard. This is trickier than it sounds because PC manufacturers have used many different types of batteries for CMOS settings. The most common are lithium, like the kind in watches, but they could also be a pair of AA batteries. Or they could look like two cylinders encased in red plastic: a silver box or a red and black box. Step5Draw a picture of the battery, showing its exact position on the motherboard. Remove and replace the battery Step1Examine the battery carefully to see how it's attached to the motherboard. Most likely, the battery is attached by a clip or with Velcro. Some older PCs might have the battery soldered to the motherboard. Unless you're confident with a soldering iron, don't attempt to replace one of these. Step2After you've removed the battery, take it to an electronics store to match it with a replacement. Step3Replace the new battery in exactly the same position as the old one, referring to your drawing (see Warning). Step4Restart your PC and re-enter or restore the CMOS settings.
