Is there anything to make you think you should be able to? I took a quick look at the manual and didn't find anything to imply that. Many cameras when connected to a computer serve only as a fancy card reader, allowing you to download pictures, and not as a camera that can take more pictures. If you see anything in the manual, please point it out to me. In the meantime, what operating system are you running on your computer? Are you using any software on the computer for remote operation of the camera?

Check your lens there is often a AF/MF auto/manual focus switch

Other than that it could be a problem with the camera take it to your dealer

It seems to be a connection issue between the Lens and the Camera body. Perhaps the mount is not true to the body Ask Pentax about this their Technical Support Team

Make sure the aperture ring is set to the "A" position. If the lens doesn't have an auto aperture setting then I don't think the lens will work. There is a setting called "Using Aperture Ring" that you can setup using the menu and configuration that can be set to "Permitted" that will allow you to take pictures even if the aperture ring is not set on "A", but not sure how well this work for you, but should allow the shutter to work.

Whats the cameras iso set at?

Normal people can't fix electronic cameras, you need to be an electronics engineer and an optical engineer. Take to a Camera Service Centre for evaluation and repair.

Hi, please ensure that you've not used the camera for more than the advised amount of time by the manufacturer. Also, you can attempt to use the same brand/type of batteries as was including with your camera when you got it. Some manufacturers put internal fimware/software restrictions on their devices. For printers, this would be done for cartridges and in the case of your camera, it would be for batteries. Lastly, I would check that your sd card isn't full before calling Pentax to refer you to a repair shop. Thank you.

Hi for anyone reading this! My 60s was just flashing with this but I fixed it. Took the batteries out, swapped them and that didn't work. Tried to put the old ones back in a few minutes later and then it was fine! Just fiddle around with it. Hope this helps.

First of all, I assume you are using an SD card (Max 2GB) as that appears to be the maximum the camera can use. That being so, all you need to do is either transfer the contents of the internal memory to the SD card, or to your computer, thus freeing the internal memory. Then set the camera up so that it writes straight to the SD card.
