50" LG Plasma - Thin red vertical line in middle of screen

I work for a auth LG service center and each time I have had this symptom we had to either change what called the T_CON control board or the Plasma display panel itself. You need to cocntact LG @ 800-253-0000 report your problem and they will find a service center in your area you should have 1 year warranty parts and labor.

It is displayed "power only V4.15" and the screen

Try pressing the EXIT button on the remote control, it is possible the TV has gone into the Aging Mode, if so the Exit should clear it.

50PX4DR screen flickers a reversed double mirrored image

you have answered your own question: you have a loose plug or other connection somewhere in the set--not a do it yourself repair and if LG I would call them to see if this is a known issue in this model.

Indicator light stays on yellow, will not go to green. can't get TV to turn on!!

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.4_29_2012_2_59_30_pm.jpg

Hello,

problem is not from the inverter board.

The problem is with the T-con.

Have the T-con replaced and your TV screen should return back to normal.

LG 50PX4DR 50 in. Plasma TV/DVR Combo popping

Hi,

Hi,

The pop sound was due to any component failure.
Most probably the capacitor. Depending upon the size the sound is produced.
The first step of diagnosis is checking the fuse. The boards of the plasma tv are very costly and in most of the case non-repairable. The only way out would be replacing the ones required. If you want to repair it yourself then you should be having proper knowledge about the internal circuitry of the plasma TVs as they are totally different from tubes and lcds.
You should also require a multimeter and soldering equipments.

It is not possible to say which board because the diagnosis has to be done step by step.
You will have to check the PSU output and Y board and Z board input.
Most probably you will need to replace Y,Z and Ctrl board unless there is virtual defect.

Let me know,if you wanted to repair it yourself. I would be glad to help you further.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My hdmi output is not

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Two things may cause the "No Signal" message to come up are - no data available for closed captioning and a weak signal input. Your TV is in the Closed Captioning Mode. To turn it off simply bring up the on screen menu and scroll down to the part that says closed captioning and turn this function off! With the closed captioning block displayed and the program being viewed is not sending out closed captioning signals the TV will display, No signal! Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
