LG 50PX1D 50 in. Plasma Television - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
LG 50PX1D problem
guess you didn't read the page properly
this fixya site and not the manufacturers site
My 50' LG Plasma made a loud pop and shut off and won't turn on.
warranty not worth the paper it is written on
under warranty it is not a requirement that you fit/ fix anything
the only option is to take it to a repair shop for a diagnosis and quote and then decide if the power hungry plasma set is worth repairing
LED sets use 1/10 the power of plasma units so an upgrade will save money
LG 50PX1D 50 in. Plasma TV
i just had the same problem. after talking to many tv repair people i finally got a knowledgeable person to help me. i ordered the part and fixed it myself.
it was very easy. i have an LG model# 50px1d. so if you had this problem i suggest you order the part yourself and fix it. i got an estimate for repair and it wouldv'e cost me at least $500 parts and labor. i paid $230 for the part. so you can see i saved a little more than half. the part you need is the " Z SUS " ASSEMBLY. you can order the part from LG website. the part # is 6871QZH044C.
let's just say after doing everything myself, i am watching TV right now.
by the way LG would not help me at all. spread the word that LG is not a good product.
Hi there I have a lg 50
Yes,it the power supply board. If u know basic electronic's,have tools and know how to do basic soldering?Take the tv aparts. The tv power supply board, that the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Searches the power supply board, look for those dying leakages of gases, going to be dead parts call capaitors. They alway bulges up on it tops or puffing up on it tops.Replaced these dying, going to be dead capacitorsThe tv power will be stable again and work.Or tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
As I was watching TV last night, my 50
Either X,Y, or Z-boards seem to have developed a problem, when this happens it results in a 'sound-no-picture' condition. If its under warranty take it back, if not have your local tv repair center fix it for you....
50px1d-uc When I try to turn it on, the red power
I came across this in a manual
-Without CableCARDTM : Illuminates red in
standby mode, Illuminates green when the
TV is turned on.
-Inserting the CableCARDTM : Illuminates
orange in standby mode, Illuminates green
when the TV is turned on....You might want to check your cable card. It seems to mimic your problem. Try taking the card out and gently clean, with a dry cloth, the contacts/strip. Then take some "canned air" and blow out the card socket from the side to dislodge any accumulated debris.
Lg tv 52 plasma bottom half of screen went blank
Hi Keith,This is an indication of faulty Y scan drive (bottom), it is a rectangular board at the right side if you are facing at the rear panel. You can fix it yourself because no soldering required replacing this board. Let the unit unplug from the AC source(outlet) to drain any voltages from the power supply board and other boards, open the back cover, pull out all connectors (make sure to do this firmly and take extra care), unscrew the board, put-in the new board, insert all connectors.Click this
LINK for parts or obtain it from your local LG service center. Make sure to check the part no/board no. on the white sticker on the board itself before ordering.Hope I helped you.Have a nice day!Jdvillanueva
I have a LG
You need to replace both the Y and X-sustain boards to light the tv. If the voltage is fine from the power supply then those are the only other boards related to lighting the plasma gas.
Thank you!
THE PROBLEM IM HAVING IS
Hi ,
I have the same problem with my lg rz 42px11 and I know it is the power board that is the issue.
I am going to have ago at repairing mine for a project as i bought the set as a none worker with no pic ,But have fixed this and now left with the power issue as yours .
If you are good with a soldering iron then you need to locate the power board ,if you follow the power cable from where the power goes in to the set this will lead you to the power board .
It will have four big capcaitors on it and three to four small yellow transformers on it .The board itself should have a parts code on it which will start with some thing like PCB (power control board) or PSC.
You can either just replace this board via ebay or if you want to have ago at fixing it look at the capacitors and see if any of the tops look as if they have been pushed upwards (swollen) .If so these will be your problem and the will need to be replaced .You must match the voltage and uf of what you take out .
Good Look .
