You can get an exact replacement remote here:
http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=42PX3DCV&uuid=13014384668260 . Alternatively, try searching for a replacement at an LG distributor:
http://www.lg.com/us/support/parts/support-find-parts.jsp .
Assuming that the sensor is working, any universal remote should work if it was programmed at least 6 months after the TV was released. Try all of the LG codes until you find one that makes all of the features work on the TV. (The absence of Menu and Input buttons can be frustrating with some TVs.)
One way to tell if the remote is working is to take a picture of the IR beam side of the remote when someone else presses a button on the remote. Use a digital camera (like the one in a cell phone). If the remote is working a bright light will appear in the picture when you review it.
If the remote actually is sending a signal, check if the buttons on the TV work. That will determine if the sensor has failed or if the entire board has failed. You may be able to obtain these parts from the LG distributor or http://www.partstore.com.
I hope this helps.
