LG WM2688H Front Load Washer - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Extra Spin cycle?
(I know this is an old question, but its probably a common question for new owners - including me a couple of weeks ago...)
Power the unit back on, press the spin speed button and it will select the "drain and spin" cycle. Pressing the spin speed button again will select different spin speeds as well as just "drain".
Something you might try instead of medium spin speed is to turn on "SpinSense". To turn this on (and off), press and hold the "Stain Cycle" button for 3 seconds while any wash program is in process.
What SpinSense does is measure the imbalance by doing a very slow spin before cranking the spin speed up (and measuring how constant the very low spin speed is). If the balance is out too much, it will stop, let the clothes drop, and then try another slow spin. It will try this over and over many times until the balance is decent. Then it will let it rip. It makes a huge difference, but it can spend a lot of time getting a good balance some times.
SpinSense also seems to be able to detect if the machine is shaking terribly, shut the spin down and try again.
Our LG 2688 is on our 1st floor (wooden floor). Without SpinSense, the vibration was terrible and with it, it is tolerable.
For some reason we typically get less vibration with "Extra High" spin speed compared to "High" so that is another option you might try.
Disgusting odor
I had the same problem, except it wasn't just towels. It was everything. I did some research and found that this is a common problem and nothing a tech can fix. I was about to go out this weekend and spend $1000 on a new washer because I couldn't use this washer on my clothes anymore. I did one more search for a solution and THANK GOODNESS found a solution on another site. A woman had the same problem and, after much trouble, someone at Best Buy finally told her to never use liquid detergent in the machine, not even HE. So I cleaned the inside of my machine, around the door, the rubber seal, etc. I ran the tub clean cycle with bleach and vinegar. The smell was gone and I have been using powder Tide ever since, and the smell hasn't come back!!!!!
Parts manual
well..the parts manuals are hard to find from LG, since they are an Asian company. however, if you get the part number from the pump, you can enter that in Google, and you'll be amazed at how many options there are for this.
L g steam washer front load
The model you have this listed under WM2688H (LG Steam Washer) a E1 Code
Correct water level (246) is not reached within 8 minutes
after water is supplied or it does not reach the preset water
level within 25 minutes.
I suggest you
Check the screens in the water inlet valve for blockage
New LG WM2688H*M Steam Washer
Your load is unbalanced, at least that is what is sounds like. Have you taken out all the shipping bolts?
These washers and dryers hold very little clothing, 3-4 pair of jeans or less if the person is really large and maybe three regular sized thick bath towels since they weight so much when wet. You must make sure you are not overloading your machines when in use.
Good luck and if you keep having problems I would take a look at the manual and call customer service to report this issue to them. Make sure you get a repair number for your records.
Part number
nope..same issues from my end. LG is really tight with their information, which is funny, considering how thin their service coverage is in US..
Te error code
btw...the thermistor can be found easily by tilting the machine on its back. It is mounted to the back of the drum housing. I removed mine after getting a "tE" error and cleaned it and replaced...no problems since!
LG WM2688H Front Load Washer
I do not have a solution, but have the same exact problem and would like to know if you ever found out where the thermistor is and if you were able to fix it.
Thank you,

Power failure problem
Run an extension cord to another outlet and try it again. Usually it's the plug that has the problem.
Cloged inlet filter
You can also buy new filters to replace the old inlet filters from Home Depot. They are not LG brand they are "generic" filters but they do work. LG does not supply these filters the only way to get them from LG is to purchase the entire inlet valve (keep in mind you have 2 hot and cold) to obtain these filters. You can call the parts dept 888-393-6484 and get the part numbers for these valves and a distributors phone number so you can purchase the valves from them. Hope this helps.
Le code and can start but sounds bad (rattles behind drum)
very unlikely it's the motor but could be the bearing is grinding or one of spyder bracket at back of drum has broken off. If you put it into spin with no load and just grinds then bearing is gone. if the drum wobbles and rattles then bracket is broken.LE code may or may not be related. Sometimes just plugging and unplugging the hall sensor at the back will eliminate the problem or just resetting it the way you did it. but if there's a real problem it will come back again.
Fitting brushes
just replace the motor. the brushes are inside the motor and if you dont know what you're doing you will end up replacing the motor anyway. if your machine agitates but does not spin its not the motor, be more specific about make and model and more specific info on the problem and we might be able to help
LG error code
its best to get an engineer to the problem as it could be anything at all or just an alignment problem eric
