most sewing machines the needle goes in flat side to the back of the machine,if it continues to break needle the it could be out of time & needs to be serviced

There is a small pin on the shaft that fell out. It is spring loaded, and has a flat side on the head. Put in the correct side, or your machine will run in reverse.
