I have a LT32X576 JVC.
Hi there,
Firstly, you need to be in "TV mode" to make adjustments in the audio/sound menu. If you are using a cable or satellite receiver connected by HDMI, Composite, Component or S-Video cables, the TV will be in an external input mode and the audio menu on the TV will not be accessible.
Try pressing the INPUT button on your JVC remote repeatedly until you are back in TV mode. Then open the menu again and see if the audio settings are accessible. (Watching TV channels from a cable or satellite receiver using INPUT 1, 2, 3 or 4 does not mean you are in TV mode).
Secondly, if you are using a cable or satellite receiver, it is quite common for the TV to appear to lose audio because the receiver has "crashed" and has stopped sending audio to the TV. This can be resolved by re-setting (re-booting) the cable/satellite receiver. Some have a reset button on the front or back, some need to be switched off and on again, and others need to be disconnected from the power supply for a minute or so.
You really need to establish why there is no audio. It is a good idea to test the TV with another external source, e.g. DVD player, VCR or game system if you have one. If you have audio on the TV from one of these devices, there is no problem with the TV. If you are using a cable or satellite receiver, these are likely to be the cause of the problem.
If there is an audio failure with the TV, it is likely to be either something simple as detailed above, or a hardware fault with the TV, which may require professional repair.
Please try the simple tests above and let me know the results if you need further assistance. Please reply to be by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.
Thanks,
