Here is a quick fix to try. If you attempted to remove the focus error doing the 3 times on and off, and it didnb't help to this. Power the camera on, you will hear the gear skipping as if it is slipping. Right at the moment you turn of the camera push the lens in manually slightly and gently. This will reposition the timing of the lens to focus. This usually fixes the Focus error when the lens is stuck in the out position and never retracts. I have had this happen twice, and it cleared both times by doing this. Good Luck

HI, I have been using my camera Fuji finepixs A400 for 2 yrs. Then suddenly it pops up with "card not initlilized".

sounds like the drive motor is shot..

Have you removed the memory card and moved the switch in to the lock position by mistake? if so take out the card and slide it into the unlock position. hope this helps

Not unless you are confident that you can. Cleaning the shutter involves stripping the lens down to get at the shutter mechanism. I have posted some tips for this and also have photo's of an f470 disassembled. Please do not think that it is a simple job to perform

it not a problem...the finpix 400 can take videos but it would not pick up sounds...its really that way... =)

connect your camera to your computer with usb cable.then your meory on camera found on computer.

format ur memory card

shutter problem. put camera into full optical zoom, turn it to face you and angle it so that you can see into the lens without reflection. In full zoom the internal lens is right up to the outer lens so, even on a small lens such as this, when you press the picture button you should see the shutter close across fully. If it does not you will get either an over exposed or complete white out picture. Or lines across your pictures.
The shutter needs to be cleaned. There is grease in the camera for the moving parts and is probable that this is the cause for the error.
I have found this to be the case for fuji's E900, E550, F40fd, F470, F460, and a few samsung's as well.

something is wrong with your power supply common problem caused by cam being drop...needs to be checked inside for wore problems...

You need to to several things it seems.
1. 'I Need Help' is no title it tells me nothing.

2. You do not need the CD at all- they are best left in the box.

3.. If you have a Windows PC- then no CD is required Windows
can do it all.
Plug the camera in to the computrer, make sure the camera is
set to up load [Read the Manual] and let Windows carry on from
there.

4. If you have difficulty getting to comupter to 'rread' the camera invest in a USB card reader.

there is buton on the back press left side of the round ring like button till u get flash mark on the screen

OK There are 3 problems that  a company like Fuji should have avoided:
1. Directing one to "re-initialize" the chip and not providing any directions for doing so.
2. Calling it "initializing" in the menu and "formatting" in the camera menu.
3. Building a camera that blitzes the chip when the USB cord is accidentaly disconnected without following the ritual.
The FIX: Turn the camera on. > Switch from the red camera icon to the green arrow icon on the ring around the shutter button. > Press the "menu/OK" button. > Under the "Erase" menu, scroll up to "Format." Press "Menu/OK" button. > Re-format (aka "re-initialize') the chip and lose all images stored on it. Whoppeee!
