Zebra Z4Mplus Label Printer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
When my labels print they sometimes drift and part
There's an adjustable label guide that slides back and forth up against the labels as they feed from the roll. Make sure the guide is up against the labels. (But not too tight) I believe it a purple colored guide.
New z4m is printing the data too big for the label
have you installed all the drivers correctly
and are you printing using the software that came with the printer or are you using word
if you are using word change the diamentions of the sheet when you go to print
Sent too many labels to printer - need to reset
As the previous expert has stated, with the printer paused, press the cancel key to cancel the job. One thing to note, is depending on how your software sends the print jobs, you may say print 1000 labels, but the software sends it one at a time, so basically you have 1000 print jobs in the printer. If you pause the printer, press and hold the cancel key. Hold it for about 2 mins. This should clear the buffer.
Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough
In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.
I have a Z4m/sm400/105sl getting asame bblock
Disconnect the serial/parallel cable from the printer, it sounds like the print server itself is resending the label rather than the printer storing it in memory. Power cycle the printer after removing the cable(s) and you should be all set - but you may have to manually purge the job from the print server before reconnecting the cable.
