Zebra Z4Mplus Label Printer - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Cannot print multiple copies
Is the printer set for label taken, if it is then it is waiting for the sensor to see the label is gone before printing the next one. Apart from that, check the settings in the driver and make sure it is all set correctly
How do you set a static IP address on the Zebra
If this is a wireless printer then all you need to do is set an address reservation on your router and then set up a fixed IP port on your printer driver.
First: Install the printer driver as a normal USB printer by connecting the cable during the install process dont use the wizard if you can help it.
Second : Find your MAC address for the printer (all types of Network Cards MUST have one) this will either be in the LCD control panel or on the bottom of the printer on a label and set this in your admin panel of your router to say 192.168.0.10 for example. You can normally enter this using 192.168.0.1 but all routers are different. Check here for your make and model
http://www.routerpasswords.com/Last : Goto the printer driver properties for the USB printer you have just install click the port tab and click add standard IP port as shown below, then disconnect the USB lead this is only required to make sure the correct inf file is used on the driver install.
Thats is. !!!

Clean the print head. If half has got gummy from labels, it will not be able to print. You will need to use a solvent for the gummy adhesive... possibly Toluol... HOWEVER be very careful to keep that off ANY plastic parts.

I have a Z4m/sm400/105sl getting asame bblock
Disconnect the serial/parallel cable from the printer, it sounds like the print server itself is resending the label rather than the printer storing it in memory. Power cycle the printer after removing the cable(s) and you should be all set - but you may have to manually purge the job from the print server before reconnecting the cable.
Zebra Z4MPlus not printing dark enough
In your label software there should be a setting option for print darkness (I assume it adjusts the head temperature) In ours (bartender) you can get to it when you select 'print' and a window appears with a 'documents properties' button. Click on this and select options and a darkness bar appears which you can adjust. You may also need to slow the label print speed if the darkness adjustment is not enough. I suspect it isn't in the printers best interest to run the print head at maximum darkness/heat so a sensible balance of darkness and print speed is best.
Another, less likely, possibility is an incompatability between the label material or surface finish, and the ribbon type. We did have a problem once whem Homebase changed their price label design and we had to test a load of other ribbon types until we got one that did the job. A chat with the label or ribbon supplier is always usefull, they sent us several sample bits to test.
