Change label size
Turn the power off. Remove old stock. Load new stock. Turn power on. Restart your program. Form size is software controlled from your form settings downloaded into the printer before your print. Make sure you restart your software to reload them.
Skips Bar Code Labels
It could be software related. The best way to find out is to restart the computer where the labels are coming from. Turn your printer off and back on again as well. Run the program that loads the forms into the printer to print with.

iN THE DRIVER CHECK THE head TEMPERATURE ISSUE. Most certainly you do not heat enough to do the transfer.
Else your ribbon is not mounted correctly. Zebra has an out inking transfer film
Manual calibration of labels not
printer manufacturers has different standards depending from the varieties of model and brand of printers for example an epson printer model who is older version is not the same speed print with the recent model likewise with the other brand. Therefore calibration of labels is depending to the version of the printer you are using now.
Head sensor problem
the sensor(printhead and media sensor) from the print head is the metalic plate next to the black plastic(gap sensor) sensor unther the printhead on the left side.
try to push up the sensor, some times is hard but can be the solution.
Zebra Z4MPlus doesnt communicate with PC
Ok,
This machine has a parallel port. Try to print via parallel cable. If it works, consider staying with it. Serial ports are a pain to manage.
If you absolutely have to do it via rs232 though....
Question 1. Has it ever printed?
If yes, Go into Windows Printers and Faxes control and select the Zebra or whatever printer that you are using. Right click on it and you should get a menu that at the bottom say "Properties", select that, then you should get a new window with tabs at the top. You want the tab for "Ports". Select it and you will see all of the different output ports that you can direct your printing. RS232 is a COM port. So start at COM1, check it and try to print. If that doesn't work, go to COM2, etc.
Last resort, If you can't get control via the printer driver program, you
will have to try redirecting the print manually (now you will
understand why I said to stay with parallel output).
What you have to do is redirect your printing via the dos "mode" command.
Under "Start Menu" goto "Run" and put in "CMD" and click "OK".
This opens a black square window with a cursor blinking. Type in this:
mode com1:9600,n,8,1 (enter)
mode lpt2=com1 (enter)
Tell your program to use LPT2 if you can and see if it works.
By now a parallel cable instead of RS232 should be looking really good.
Good luck!
Possible print head failure
to test , press pause botton and turn on (press 5 sec.)
he print a "pause test".
check if print, if stop on ich gap and if come some lines across the print (if apear some lines, need new print head.) this step just pause wen print some labels, and then still print until turn off.
Turn off and turn on the printer to work normal.
To calibrate media, go on the setings to "sensor profile" and/or "run manual calibration, follow the steps. (dont forget to take the ribbon from the sensor.)
let the test run until finish.
Z4Mplus doesn't save configuration
I had the same issue.
I'm using the seagull scientific drivers.
It turns out that the printer did not react well to changes made to it through the software.
I deleted the printer and added it again.
I made all my changes immediately through the software (creating a custom label size of 4in x 1in and portrait 180)
My print width setting on the printer is still 099 6/8 but everything prints fine.
NO COMMUNICATION
hi i have zebra z4m plus printer when i give them command for printing it's not printing and i need a solution can you please help me thankyou
Printing shifting backward
You probably need to clean the sensors, turn the printer off open the side cover, lift the printhead and you'll see the sensors. Clean them with a damp cotton bud.
Printer won't print
Printer doesn't print, just feeds the label.
Check your Labels and Ribbon, ensure you have the right ones.
If you have the right ones, here's what you try.
Hit the "setup/exit" button once. Then hit the "+" button repeatedly until you get to Print Meth. It will say Thermal Transfer. That setting can be changed by hitting the select button and the + button. Change it to Direct Thermal Transfer. Then use the setup/exit button to Temporary save the changes. You can change it back to Thermal Transfer doing the same method.
You will get an error, because the ribbon is in. But you can see it it prints.
Try going to the manufacturer website and read the manual about the printer.
If the printer feeds ribbon and doesn't print, more then likely it's a print head problem. When I mean it doesn't print, I mean from the printer control panel without the computer connected.
If you cannot figure out how to print the internal print fonts or setup from the Zebra 4m+ printer, you again need to go to the manufacturers website and read the manual.
Did a little research, appears that I can get a rebuilt print head for about $400. Instructions to install should be with the print head, if not reverse engineering.
Labels enlarged
if they are diferent resolutions, ex. you change from 200 dpi to 300 dpi, you need to change something inside the printer like the gears (just reversing the platten roller gear and the the withe gera on the motor) and you are printing on 300 dpi with very small fontes.
