Code 11 on display.
Yes the laser has to be replace.
If you have checked that all the connections from the laser to the engine control board.
If it all of a sudden gave the code 11 then that means you have to replace it.
That laser comes at a price of $500 to $700. refurbished.

XEROX PHASER 7700 ERROR 11
Error 11, laser unit polygon motor failure. If this fault reoccurs 3 times successively the 7700 . enter diagnostics and clear tech rep fault and clear this 09-380, 09-383.
Laser unit polygon motor failure
This error usually means that the laser unit on the machine has failed. Just replace the laser unit part number 116-1110-00. I've bought couple of them from
www.iteminconline.com. They also give good customer service for free and I think 30 day return if the part is not working. hopefully this helps
Wide toner bands across sheet
Did you get the same exact yellow band on both of the new and old cartridges? If they are not identical, your new yellow cartridge is defective.

Resetting Transfer Roller Life
- Resetting the transfer roller life is to be performed only if the Transfer Roller Assembly was defective and or the assembly is replaced before an end of life or near end of life message. Not to extend the life of the assembly. Doing so may cause premature failure of other internal printer components.
- The printer will prompt the user to reset the life counts if the assembly is replaced after receiving a Replace Transfer Roller or Replace Transfer Roller Soon message.
Note: If the main Menu does not appear on the front panel screen and only Replace Transfer Roller is displayed, there may be a print job that is either processing or currently printing. Try the following steps to clear the print jobs and reset the Transfer Roller life:
- Press the cancel button several times to flush processing jobs from the printer.
- If you do not receive access to the front panel menu by doing this, power off the printer and disconnect Ethernet, parallel or USB cable from the printer.
- Turn the printer back on, and while it is powering up, immediately start pushing the cancel key repeatedly until you receive access to the front panel menu.
- If the printer menu appears on the front panel screen, follow the instructions below to reset the Transfer Roller life if the printer did not prompt you to reset it:
- With Menus highlighted press OK.
- Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Supplies Info Menu.
- Press OK.
- Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Exit at the bottom of the menu tree.
- Now scroll up to Reset Transfer Roller Life.
- Press OK.
- Reset Transfer Roller NOW is displayed.
- Press OK to reset the transfer roller life.

Streaks in direction of paper travel
There are dark lines running along
the page in the direction of paper
travel from the leading edge to the
trailing edge (B-size print shown).
The printer displays no error code.
Note A-size prints are processed
through the printer with the short
edge of the print parallel to the
direction of the paper path --
making horizontal print artifacts
parallel to the shot edge of the
print.
B-size prints are processed
through the printer with the long
edge of the print parallel to the
paper path -- making horizontal
artifacts parallel to the long axis
of the print.
1. Check the end of life for each of
the consumables by printing the
supplies usage page. From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu, select
Print Supplies Page.
2. Run the solid fill test pages; From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu,
select Service Pages, then select Print Solid Fill Pages. If the missing bands
only occur in a single primary color, replace the print cartridge of the affected
color.
3. Swap print cartridges and run another test print.
Note Under some circumstances, streaking may occur in the margin of
SRA3-size paper. This is due to the edges of the paper extending
beyond the end of the imaging components. print-quality in the
margins of SRA3 paper is not guaranteed.
4. Inspect the Accumulator Belt cleaner; replace the cleaner, if necessary.
5. Run the Remove Print Smears routine. From the front panel’s Support Menu,
select Improve Print-Quality?, then select Remove Print Smears.
6. Replace the Developer Housing Assembly (RRP 27, on page 7-171).
7. Remove the print cartridge and (with a flashlight) check for debris along the
edge of the developer housing.
