The only thing I can think of is the grinds is too course, and if it happens when you make the first coffee then the machine is getting too hot. I would check the thermostat for the coffee boiler.

How do I reset the

By removing the top four screws on the lid (with the water tank removed) and looking inside the machine you will see three (3) thermostats. The two (2) thermostats on the top of the boiler do not reset. Leave those be. The 3rd thermostat which is mounted on the side of the boiler facing the front near the switches is the safety thermostat. If you look closely you will see that in-between the connectors is a small circular button. Carefully push this in with something long and narrow (not an object that will conduct electricity) and the thermostat will have been reset. If this does not work and the button does not press in, you will need to replace the safety thermostat.

There is a max fill line mark on the side of the water tank. Fill the water to there or less. Do not fill the water any higher than this line or water will spill out the side where the water inlet hoses run. Also make sure that the tank is not cracked and leaking water.

Our Silvia, almost 8 years

Try to redo what you have been doing, but set it to the extremes to see if everything is functioning. If you set the grind say to 4, it should come out very slow or maybe not at all.

Hi I have a Ranchilio

  • Make sure your using filtered water
  • After you steam, turn of the steaming switch and hit the water switch and let it go until a steady stream of water comes out then switch it off, this refills the boiler
  • Try to descale it or backflush it, with Jo Glo or Full Circle.
good luck!

Lights are all on but the machine not heating so

Hi There is a reset button inside on the front side of the boiler (you have to take the top of the machine off. There are 4 screws and remove the water tank). It is located between 2 black wires and is a red button. Push it in and test. There is also another problem that you might have. If the brew thermostat is bad it won't heat. To test for this, push the steam switch and wait 15 seconds. Then open the steam knob and push the middle button and see if the water is warm. If it is then you need a new brew thermostat. That is the thermostat that has the red dot on the top. It sets on top of the boiler next to the steam thermostat. If you take the top off, make sure that the machine is unplugged. If none of these things work check the heating element with an ohms meter. The reading in the terminals should be from 12 to 16 ohms. If no reading the elements is bad and you have to replace the boiler.

After mastering the perfect steamed

Hello, my name is mike. I have been in the espresso business for 20 years, I don't think you have lot pressure, unless you have any water leaks in or around machine, assuming you don't, I believe it is simple as your froth steam wand is partially clogged and needs good cleaning. If it is partially clogged or dirty, YES it will appear as loss of pressure, as pressure will back up and not go through wand. Use small needle or opened up paper clip and stick in wand holes to make sure all holes are not clogged in addition read my story below and please let me know if this has solved problem. Have you ever wondered, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?' First lets us understand what is exactly is scaling. The build up of minerals inside the hot parts of your coffee machine or espresso machine is commonly called lime scale. When lime scale builds up inside the Espresso machine, it slows down the water flow, reduces the boiler capacity and can prevent your coffee machine from working properly. To keep your Espresso machine operational at full order, it is important to descale it every three months. The time intervals between descaling depend upon many factors. Quality of your water and the amount of water running through the machine are the two main factors that decide the frequency at which you should descale your Espresso machine. The more you your machine, more often should you descale it. In some cities, in conjunction with a water filter you can use your coffee machine for a year or more without descaling at all. If you use less water by drinking espressos you'll need to descale less often than if you make cappuccinos. Descaling products are widely available from stores that sell coffeemakers and espresso machines. Be sure that the product you buy to descale your Espresso machine is intended for this specific use only. Before you descale your Espresso machine, always unplug it and make sure that it is cold. Also, never immerse the appliance in water and nor should you use abrasive cleaning products or scouring materials on any part of your Expresso machine. In case your Espresso machine does not come with a instruction guide or booklet, then use a proper citric acid based descaling solution designed for espresso machines. This should be mixed and prepared as per the instructions on the bottle or packet. Once your Espresso machine has been descaled properly you would not be left wondering, 'how do I descale my expresso machine?', treat yourself to a great cup of coffee. Some popular models of Espresso machines are Krups EA8080 Espresseria Automatic, DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3200S, Krups Nespresso CitiZ & Milk XN 7106 Fire-engine red, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5400, DeLonghi PrimaDonna ESAM6600, DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM4200S, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 and Magimix Nespresso Citiz M190.

How do you get rid of an air lock? - it's a

Hello and welcome to FixYa;

I am going to suggest this for you, but there could be several solutions to this problem. If it doesn't work; we will try something else.

Loosen the fitting going from the pump to the thermal block.

You will most likely hear the air escape.

Tighten it back up.

This simple procedure has helped others before with your mode type with an 'air lock'.

If it doesn't work, can you go into as much detail as you can about the specific problem and retrace your steps what happened right before you found the issue you are having?

Hi,

According to your problem, may be the steam makes it lock. So first release the steam by slowly removing the steam knob. Then you can unlock it. You need to clean the machine. So descale the machine and also clean the boiler and Steam spout.
