Lamp problem

IF NOT A TOSHIBA REPLACEMENT BUT A GENERIC LAMP THAT COULD BE THIS SET'S PROBLEM.Other than that the Ballast that fires the Lamp may be the problem.Note: if lamp only lasts several months there is another possible reason: Some of these sets had a setting in the customer menu for something like "quick on"===if your set has this and it is engaged the lamp never completely shuts off--this feature was so you did not have to wait when dead cold and off for twenty some seconds after turn on for the picture to appear.Problem with this is when you turn set off lamp dims but does not go out and fan may shut off quickly that should cool the lamp when set is turned off.Other than looking in the menu with a working lamp watch where lamp is when you turn the set off---it should go out almost instantly and the fan for the lamp should run about 3-5 minutes and then it should turn off.It was a nice but stupid feature that a lamp running all the time affects your electric bill and really shortens the life of the lamp, most of us with remote start on our car will not leave it running 7-24.

Toshiba 56hm ic repair

The model listed here 56hm195 is a dlp and has no ic's for this issue.Double check the model number on the rear of the set and let me know--if convergence the set will have a way in the menu to attempt to adjust--if it has that the model indicated is wrong.

I have a toshiba 56Hm 195 only half has picture

a PROBLEM likely to be either in the optical light engine or a separate digital board in the set---engine is more likely and a very expensive part not to mention labor.
