You will want to take this into a local PC repair shop to have them repair this; Not all PC repair shops do this type of work. If you want to do this yourself, look up the backlight part number based on your model of laptop, and order the backlight.

make sure your wifi router is broadcasting so you can find it from your laptop. you may need the pass-phrase if you have that turned on. also, check your laptop to make sure the wifi radio is turned on. this is usually a button on the side or a function key on your keypad.

Recommendation: If you can switch from the 3rd party wireless utility to the Windows utility. There should be a check box under the properties that says, "Let Windows manage my connection." Also turn off any power management that stops your drives, suspends the machine, etc. When doing WEP, use the actual key, not your password. i.e. the one that looks like "aaff996753bc" not "rosebud".

Reason: Windows wireless starts before you even log in and loads as a service, it runs whether your logged in or not, sleep mode, etc. 3rd party utilities...especially my personal bane of all wireless devices "Netgear" load as applications. That means they don't initialize until after log in and they can be suspended completely or prioritized by power management and resource management utilities when the machine is idle. As for the key thing... WEP translation with Linksys especially can be a little funny with some wireless so I use the key itself which always works.

As far as I know this is common error on toshiba laptops when OS is not installed or corrupted. Try removing hard drive (look at guide or on youtube) and reconnecting, if error still ocurrs, then reininstall os if you have windows cd (need to download drivers as well from Toshiba's site.)A new hard drive is fairly inexpensive, from eBay (refurb.is fine)

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. the inverter maybe going bad. go to ebay get a cheap toshiba satellite a105 lcd inverter.bam the problem fix oh you would need a screw drivercause this is a diy project no need tosend it out link me if anything [email protected]

the battery could be too low to power it or the power park is bad or the battery is total bad or the chager is not in good condition.

Are you getting into OS after that ??
Usually there would be a welcome screen for all laptops which gives directions to go to BIOS,Select Boot device,etc..

Probably in BIOS you will have an option to set the dely of your welcome screen as well.

The memory card slot is at the front of the laptop just beside the 2 audio ports (for that purpose you have to remove the card from the adapter). Hope this helps.
