Toshiba Satellite L25-S119 White Display Screen

Hi,
First, hook up the laptop to an external monitor. Turn it on and try to get into the bios.
How compressed was the air you used to blow out the heatsink, and when you blew it out, did you have it unplugged and the battery removed? When you spin the heat sink fan, it creates current, like a little generator.
I gotta tell you, just removing memory won't cause the problem you're describing.
I've had several Toshibas with lcd issues, mostly caused by the onboard video modules on the motherboard getting hot.
Good luck.
If you can get video to an external monitor, let me know.
Thanks

Screen is Black even when the machine is on

Good day,

since you can still hear that your laptop is starting, the system is still fine, hence, we can isolate the problem to several causes that would make your screen turn black, it might be due to a loose connection between the video card and your screen, the cable connection to your screen, or your screen might be busted already.

if you are the techie type of gal, you can dismantle your laptop yourself and isolate the problem. be sure that the warranty is already expired since you will automatically void the warranty if you open your laptop yourself. however, i suggest that you contact a competent technician to check the problem as it might also include other problems that might have caused the black screen (software driver for your video card perhaps).

i hope this will help

Touchpad not working

What Brand is it and what Windows are you running 95,98,ME, 2000, XP or Vista? I work on the IBM ThinkPad Brands and all you would need to do is download a Driver other brands maybe the same way if they still support that model.

I forgot the enter password

You could find the person who knows the password and return their computer!

I apologize if my cynical assumption is incorrect, but people don't usually lose their passwords and the majority of the time (In my humble experience), it's a case of trying to bypass someone else's (which isn't nice).

There are password retrieval programs that may or may not work, but you can always boot to an Operating System installation CD/DVD (you may have to set the boot order to "CD drive 1st" in the BIOS first), format the Hard Drive and start fresh too.

In both cases it sounds like it could be a graphics card problem. You could try to find the latest driver updates for your graphics card by searching the internet for the most suitable driver & / or updates. (When software is automatically (Microsoft/Windows/etc) updated from the internet, it may be of versions that are no longer compatible to you Hardware drivers)

Overheating could also cause the problem if you have an older Laptop, with the latest software.

Laptop won't power up

Hi Pastor Len

Try to depress the On/Off button and hold it down for 5 - 10 Seconds. If nothing happens then the Toggle of the switch is brobably broke!!! You will probably be able to have a technician fix it for you, if not, you could remove the hard drive (yourself, or a Technician) and have it attached to another computer to retrieve any data.

Have you tried connecting to an external monitor? Try that. If the picture is perfect on the external monitor then the VGA port is OK but there is a problem with communications between the system board and the screen connector.

Hope this helps. Kindly leave a rating.

Thanks :)

Laptop will not stay powered on.

try this without the battery installed, just to make certain that the power supply is working.

then, on some batteries, there is a button on bottom, with a scale for reading the charge level.

check on that, you may find the batteries really weak or fully discharged, which can make the laptop work oddly.

There was a hardware failure / problem on your laptop. If I'm not mistaken it's probably on the Memory Module.

Right side of screen flickering (top to bottom)

Your laptop screen has a thin ribbon connecting the screen to the mainboard. after upening and closing your screem these pins sometimes breaks causeings streaks in your screen. My compaq note book has to be resoldered because of a lose connection on back for power. your gonna want to get that fixed before you fry your board. costs about 50 bucks for an hours work to get that solderd. It could be linked to your flikering issue..
