Cannot open internet when trying to get wifi

Hi,

Ok - few things to clarify first:

When you say "it connects" what do you mean? Do you open internet explorer and can browse the net without problem?

You Pick up Wifi connections - make sure you pick the correct one to connect to and ensure that you use the correct Password.

If all the above are working then make sure the Laptop is rebooted when you attempt to connect to wifi. Msn has problems when it can not resolve correct IP address - rebooting the machine should fix that.

Or the connection speed is too slow - which these days can still happen.

Finally, Get the full error message from msn and type it into google. Guide yourself to the Microsoft pages with the correct solution.

So few things to clarify and few things to test out.

I hope this helps, don't forget to rate my solution.

Thanks.

I have a Toshiba NB250

I would suggest a factory restore to fix the problem. If you have data on the computer that needs saving then do this first, if unable to do this then take to a computer shop to have it done for you.

When I turn the laptop

Dear beanbean,This "lovely black screen" is a BIOS password screen. This shows up because somebody has set a boot-up password in the BIOS Setup. If you're lucky, the BIOS Setup is still unprotected, and you can access it as follows:When you turn it on, look for something that says "Press [button] to enter Setup" or "Press [button] to enter Setup Utilities." Press the corresponding button on your keyboard, and you should enter BIOS Setup. Now two things can happen. Either you are permitted to access Setup, or you are prompted for the password. If you can access Setup, navigate to the Security tab and clear all set passwords. If not... then you can either reset BIOS by unplugging the computer, taking off the back, and removing the CMOS Battery (unrecommended), or you can call Toshiba support and ask for the master password (Most manufacturers have a master password, which will allow you to access Setup and remove the boot-up password)Hope this helps,Ericthecmh

When I type letter keys, numbers come up with the letters

That's because some are dual function keys; you've probably hit the 'Alt' or 'Fn' key to the bottom left of the keyboard by accident. If you look carefully at the letter keys, they should have numbers on them in a different colour/smaller text.

Just a quick note, before you go replace the entire screen, make sure it's not just a wiring problem. If so, it doesn't cost as much to replace the wires connecting the screen to the laptop. LCD's are much more expensive!
As for replacing the display, this website has information on the display, along with the ability to purchase it from their site. http://www.pelltechnology.com/Toshiba/Laptop/Toshiba-Portables-Satellite-P105-Series-S6024/Toshiba-Satellite-P105-S6024-LCD-Screen-Replacement-P350475.asp
