One option available to you is to reinstall the drivers for the track pad, another option is to get a technician to look at the actual buttons on this notebook as the buttons may have failed.
First try the drivers though, they can be found on the CD disk that came with your notebook or on the manufactures website, Toshiba in your case.
Take care!

Toshiba Satellitte A105 lap top
Hello,
it happens sometimes you can either try to:
- Press a key and wait for a response
- Look and see if your laptop has like a hibernation or standby key on the keyboard
- Have a look and see if you have a fn key and look to see if there is a power management button
- remove the batterys and the mains hold down the power button for 30 seconds and wait a couple of minutes and connect everything back up again
However it could be something to do with your BIOS, go into your BIOS and see if there is a power management option in BIOS andplay about in power management sometimes there is a option to enable APM advanced power management if that is enabled disable it.

Base from the description of your problem this is a issue with the lens of your drive that it wont be able to start reading DVD.
What you can try here is a simple remedy for this problem is to run a lens cleaner to your drive, but this is most likely that your drive needs a hardware repair already due this this lens problem.

First, press and hold on/off button for about 30 seconds. If the on/off
button fails, there is usually a reset switch. You can access it with a
tip of the pen or a paperclip, through a little hole marked RESET.
Alternatively, take the batteries out for several seconds.

If you have tested with another adapter with the same results, flashing the BIOS can resolve a power issue.

try using system restore and go back to a restore point before your grand child got to the computer. i am guessing that you have XP for an operating system.
go to start..... all programs ..........accessories ........... system tools ............ system restore......... click and follow the directions to take it back to an earlier date.
try this and let us know if it works or not.

Hi when i try to
It would seem to me that you should select (highlight by left click on) the pictures you want to burn to the CD and then right click on the pictures. When the right click menu pops up, left click on Copy. Then, right click on the icon for the CD drive and click Paste, which would transfer the picture to the CD.

My m105 works great but
Hello
Disable firewall settings to check if it doesn't block connection.
1) Update the WLan driver. In most cases this solves connections issues.
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/
2) Go to device manger -> WLan card -> Properties -> Advanced tab and check if the WLan modus 802.11 B/G or N has been set to the same Wlan modules supported by router!
3) Disable the WLan encryption and password on the router and check if you could connect to the router without any security settings. Do this only for testing purposes. If it connects properly, enable the encryption password and try again.
4) Disable WLan power saving! This can be done in Win Power Management. If that doesn't work, perform a system restore, set your computer to how it was the last time you were on the internet.
