Where is the firewire port?
Confirm that the laptop has a PCMCIA card slot. If so, you can get a Firewire PCMCIA card and communicate at near bus speeds on the laptop. That will be a lot faster than the USB port. Almost any Firewire PCMCIA will work. Just make sure that slot is in your chassis.

Dec 06, 2009- hi,\r\nHow do I interupt the startup
You Don't Need To Restore BIOS....
You Just Need To Allow To Boot TO Cd/DVD As Your First Boot Option...
To Do THis.... Press the ESC or F10 Key As Soon As Powered On.. It will tell you what key to press on the screen as soon as the laptop boots.. one key brings you to your BIOS setup utility, the other key brings you to your boot options menu (ex: boot to HDD0, Boot To CD, Boot To LAN) THen EIther in the Boot Menu or in your BIOS setup you can set the CD/DVD to be your First Boot CHoice...
Insert Your Recovery CD....
Reboot The Laptop
If Still Not Able To Get Laptop To Boot From The Cd.... Tap The F12 Key When Powering On To Attempt to boot to it...
Then Continue on with Recovery Process... Full System Recovery...

Computer shuts down after safe mode excutes.
Hi,
If your computer hangs at MUP.SYS , its not due to that, its due to the driver that is loaded next to the MUP.SYS, which is ACPI.SYS...
This one usually occurs after MUP.SYS has been loaded and if the startup is set to not automatically reboot then the BSOD is usually indicating a problem with ACPI. Not that this has anything to do with ACPI but is simply indicating that the BIOS has somehow gotten corrupted and needs to be straightend out..Restore the bios settings and try loggin in..
If you still have issues,it may be due to hardware issues. if you installed any software for power management or power saver option, it must have caused this problem,
ACPI is responsible for power saving and power management of your laptop..ACPI(Advanced configuration power interface)..
So if its completely corrupted, you have to boot from XP cd and repair this file using the repair option..This should solve your issue
Please leave me comment, if you ned further assistance

Booting from a USB Stick
Here you go:
Download the Ubuntu Live ISO (if you dont have it already) and burn it to CD
Restart your computer (booting from the Ubuntu Live CD)
Insert a 1GB or larger USB flash drive
Open a terminal window and type sudo su
Now type fdisk -l to list available drives/partitions (note which device is your flash drive Example: /dev/sdb). Throughout this tutorial, replace all instances of x with your flash drive letter. For example, if your flash drive is sdb, replace x with b.
Type umount /dev/sdx1
Type fdisk /dev/sdx
type p to show the existing partition and d to delete it
type p again to show any remaining partitions (if partitions exist, repeat the previous step)
type n to make a new partition
type p for primary partition
type 1 to make this the first partition
hit enter to use the default 1st cylinder
type +750M to set the partition size
type a to make this partition active
type 1 to select partition 1
type t to change the partition filesystem
type 6 to select the fat16 file system
type n to make another new partition
type p for primary partition
type 2 to make this the second partition
hit enter to use the default cylinder
hit enter again to use the default last cylinder
type w to write the new partition table
Type umount /dev/sdx1 to unmount the partition
Type mkfs.vfat -F 16 -n usb /dev/sdx1 to format the first partition
"Alternately you can try mkfs.vfat -F 32 -n usb /dev/sdx1 (doesn't always work)"
Type umount /dev/sdx2 to ensure the partition is unmounted
Type mkfs.ext2 -b 4096 -L casper-rw /dev/sdx2 to format the second partition
Remove and Re-insert your flash drive
Back at the terminal, type sudo apt-get install syslinux mtools
Type syslinux -sf /dev/sdx1
Restart your computer, remove the CD and boot back into Windows
Using Windows to prepare and move the files to the USB Stick:
Create a folder named USB on your computer
Download UBconvert.zip using this link - http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/UBconvert.zip
Now, extract the files to the USB folder
Move the Ubuntu ISO downloaded earlier to the USB folder
Click fixu.bat from the USB folder (follow on screen instructions)
Move all files from the ubuntu directory to your memory stick
Reboot your computer and set your system BIOS to boot from USB-HDD or USB-ZIP. Also set the "Hard Disk Boot Priority" if necessary.
You should now be booting into Ubuntu Linux from your USB drive!

Blank Screen
The bad thing about this is that it could be a software related issue or a hardware issue.
If you're willing, you can disassemble the unit and check for a damaged or loose connector to the monitor. If there doesn't appear to be any issues there it may well be that the screen has gone bad or there is something wrong with the driver/setting on the unit itself that is causing the screen to saty off.
I'd move forward with the hardware issue first though.

On my toshiba tablet,I forgot my pass word.how do I reset it?
Not sure about specifics on toshiba tablets, but wanted to suggest that on other tablets you can hold the up volume(sometimes others its volume down) and power button at sane time for about 10+seconds and a menu will pop up for a rebooting, safe mode, and factory restart(which erases and reboots from scratch) worth a shot.. Yet, be careful what you select if it works.. Don't want you to erase stuff if you don't want to.... And btw most tablets have a little pin size hole either under the camera lense or on side that something like a paper clip can push a reset button... But don't think that helps with password.. Just if it freezes up and won't shut down... Good luck.. Sorry if this doesn't help...
