More important the PC recognises the Mp3 player. If the PC doesn't display a "found new hardware" message when the switched on Mp3 player is connected to the usb, assuming the usb socket is good and the connecting lead is also known to be good, it can be assumed the Mp3 player is faulty. It probably doesn't apply as you have not previously used the device, but there have been cases where folk have decided to format an Mp3 player as a quick way of erasing all the music files. Unfortunately that also removes the operating software and renders the device useless.

now u can upgrade to windows 7 which is more compatible than vista. it already has all the drivers. so there is no driver problem comes in windows 7. i m currently using widows 7600 RTM. its best operating system. i ever used...

If you need to run the recovery utility or format your YH-925, it needs to be in HDD Mode, not MTP mode. To temporarily restore the device back to HDD Mode:

1. Ensure the YH-925 is powered off and disconnected from the PC
2. Press and hold the >> button on the side of the device.
3. While still holding the >> button, connect the YH-925 to your PC.
4. YH-925 is restored back to HDD Mode until disconnected from the computer.
5. Format the YH-925 by right clicking on the device in My Computer.

try using samsung media studio it comes with the samsung mp3 it self it does everything no other media player will help you

Get a new battery.

Just like on my cell phone, if I go a long time with it, it goes dead faster, for example the first day I got it would last at least a couple days, now it lasts maybe 10 hours, or so.

Buy a new battery.

What have you tried?
Have you looked in the device manager as explained in the manual?
Is the mp3 listed there under Disk Drives and/or Universal Bus Controller? If not, is there a device listed with a question/exclamation mark?
Think we should go step by step through this, as there are several possible reasons for your problem.

That was no answer for your question. Here we go

As you can see on the download page of samsung, there are several applications available. It's a bit confusing, as they have Multimedia Studio (1.0), Samsung Music Studio (1.0) and Samsung Media Studio(5.1.3.2).

I think you should just download Music Studio. This is a direct download link to the installation file. Since the Multimedia Studio doesn't work, you can uninstall it.

Also something to check, is that because the player is recognized and listed in the Device Manager, it probably is available in My Computer.
If not: right-click My Computer -> Manage
Select Storage -> Disk Management
Your mp3 should be listed there as an 20GB drive.
