Sounds like the monitor power supply may be faulty or noisy - most probable cause is that it needs the capacitors changing. If it has an external supply try changing it as that is a cheap fix worth a gamble - if power is internal then change the monitor.

It sounds like the ribbon vable between the logic board and the T-CON board on the LCD panel may have come off or it has blown fuse on the T-CON board, or not getting the 5Vdc from the LOgic board to the T-CON board due to bad 5vdc switched transistor that supply the voltage to the T-CON board.

Hi! I've been reading up on solutions to the

Tha caps can look OK but they can have high ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), low ESR caps are a must for switching power supply. You need cap meter that can read ESR.
One trick you can try is to heat up the caps with hair dryer, then plug in the power to see if it will come on.
You should also take voltage reading on the caps to se what you have.
When low ESR cap go bad, when you heat it up the ESR will go down.

Syncmaster 930bf black screen

Hello,

its a common problem for LCD monitors after 2-3 years of use. The power supply that powers the back lights has gone out. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair yourself. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors that get over heated in the monitor case and blow out. You can go to our site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm to see what the parts look like when they blow out. Open the back of your monitor and replace all of the ones that look like the pictures. We have repair guide on the site for your model with pictures of what to do. We also have a repair kit available. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $30.00 plus return shipping. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Blinking power LED

Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors will blow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. If your problem is not the capacitors then it would be the backlights and that is much more difficult to replace.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.
