I have bought a mew
Hi, what was the LCD displaying is that he is not sensing any signal from the computer video port that is why it is prompting "check signal cable". Have you tried checking the pins of your video cable from your LCD? if OK please plug in the cable again when your PC is already open to check that signal will pass thru and lets see what happen. If still the same, try to isolate it with laptop as external video if you have to check the LCD will work with other PC. If the same, replace the signal cable of your LCD if it is removable to further check the problem.

I got a Samsung SyncMaster
It does the same when attached to another PC?
If it is monitor, then please read below:
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Where can I find drivers
The problem is not the LCD monitor; the problem is that the current device-driver for your computer's video-card is a "generic" ("low-resolution") device-driver.
Open "Device Manager".
Expand the "Display Adapter" section.
Double-click the video-card.
Click "update driver" and let Windows access the Internet, to search for a better driver.

Monitor is going off after a few seconds the power
Hello,
The
picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few
seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the
picture
board of your monitor has developed fault and will need to be replace.
I advice you replace the picture board on the monitor, this will solve the problem and will never experience such thing again.
Take care.

I HAVE A 19' MONITOR FROM SAMSUNG
If the fonts are too small ..just see the resolution maybe is too high and thats why ..being a 19' monitor you should use it at 1024 x 768 resolution to be accesible with big fonts ..and still not too big..and the luminosity and contrast have to be adjusted from the monitor itself in order not to affect all the stuff you get out from the computer ...when you Modify it from the video card you change all that will run on the computer and all its properties..
So ..if it is not a issue with the resolution ...just encrease the font size from right click on the desktop and choose properties..there on the appearance you will have settings for all...just go to the advance settings inside..and you can modify the font for each bar ..for the icons..and the icons itself ans still use a high resolution ..
also you can change all fonts to a bigger value by going into the desktop properties and instead of going to the appearance go to settings ..(the last one in the right ) and there click advanced and change the DPI from 96 normal ...choose custom ..and add a percentage to encrease the fonts and icons as well all at once and the fonts too ...
For the fonts use on the browser the settings are made from the internet options ..in the browser itself..

My SyncMaster 910mp LCD TV monitor switch thus not
ritchaddison, Problem could be inside monitor. If "cold-cathode-fluoresscent-lamps" fail to stay lit. problem might be the "electronic ballast" circuit needs work done on it. Also check the "switch-mode-power-supply" for typical failure modes that result in "black screen" complaints. Remember this!! Your monitor no different than any other brand of CCFL back-lit LCD display in it's basic design and operation. Software not problem. Only you or qualified electronics technician will repair this unit. Read my and other LCD monitor tech's fixya profiles to make decision on what option you will use on 910mp unit. 12fixlouie
