My printer Ricoh aficio cl3500n does not print and
The first step is to turn the machine off and then turn it back on. Do all the lights come right back on, or is it okay until you try to print to it?
If all the lights are on, there should be an error message appearing on the display. It might say out of paper, or out of toner, or a cover open, or it might show a code (such as "sc 501").
What is the code or error message that appears?

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N printer phantom misfeed
It seems that the sensor is having dust or toner settled upon it. Kindly remove the toner and clean the residual toner. Take a hard stock paper and give one copy command and push it while it tries to pull the paper. Paper misfeed is not the same as paper jam. Paper misfeed refers to the blank paper tray and paper jam refers to paper which has been taken from the tray and now inside the unit.
Vertical lines printing on one side of the page
9 times out of 10 this is coming from one of the two drum (photoconductor) units. Just open the right side door, release the waste toner box, and remove the 2 drum units. The larger one is the color drum unit and the smaller one is the black. Look down thru the slot in the top of the unit (3 slots in the color drum) and look at the green colored drum surface. On one end or the other you should be able to see the same lines on the drum surface that you are seeing on the paper. One of the 2 drum units should have the lines and that will tell you which one will need to be replaced. Hopefully it will be the black drum unit as they are relatively cheap. The color ones are $350 to $400

Error code SC471
SC471 is a Transfer Belt HP error. The transfer belt does not lift in the rear. The rear cam (G060 3894) slips past its locking tab on the square stepped shaft and slips off the side.
The fix: reposition the rear transfer belt lift cam to lock the tab into the square shaft. Secure the locking tab with a tie wrap.
Now this is the solution if you know what you are doing on this printer. I can not even begin to tell you in this forum how to dis-assemble the printer to get the transfer belt unit out and effect this repair. IKON is pretty pricy on labor. I would see if there is an independant guy locally that can do it. Inexpensive repair that I would charge $90 or less for. If you HAVE to call IKON then just make sure they do not try to tell you that you have to replace the transfer belt unit. This repair is all that is needed 90% of the time.

OK I canot get the side panel to lock into the
If it is the right side pannel on the machine that folds down then make sure you turned the lock for the waste toner bottle. If the waste toner lock is not locked the right door will not close.
When I pint pictures it seems to not
Are you using plain 20lb paper? If you are using anything thicker or heavier than plain paper then you must use the bypass feed and tell the machine you are using cardstock, thick paper etc. I have the same machine and have had the same issue when printing labels. Works perfectly if you tell the machine what paper you are printing onto.
Now if this is not the case then you might have an issue with the fusing unit.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Faded streaks for only blak color on Ricoh 3500N laser printer
Your toner cartridge is probably getting low. Toner is actually a powder, and it can get settled during shipments, bringing it home, etc etc.
Take out the black toner and give it a gentle side-to-side shake a few times and pop it back in.
That should help.
My printer produces banding on the left hand side
It sounds like a few things could have happened.. Someone might have put a tyvek type paper in the machine that has partially fused to the FUSER. Or your Fuser is reaching the end of it useful life.
The Fuser is what puts the image/text on the paper.
Replacement of the fuser unit will correct this. The average price for a unit is 175-225 dollars + install.
USED TONER BOTTLE
The waste toner bottle is on the right side behind the flip-down door. move the green lever and slide it out.
Reset fusing unit correctly
You need a new printer head. This has happened to me several times with my printer and I know how frustrating it is.
Have a ricoh CL 3500
First that you can try here is to power off the printer , restart the computer then once kits back go back to control panel and open printers and faxes then right click your printer and cancel or delete print queue, if after that still there's the print queue you can delete that printer and then just add a new printer.
