Do I have to dial 9-1 before the area code when faxing?
Hello,
If you are in an office or corporate environment where the phone system is on a PBX you need to dial 9 usually to get outside the office. If you just have the unit setup at home or to an analog phone jack (not going thru a PBX) then just dial 1 + area code + number. If the number is local then don't use a 1, just the phone number and area code.

I am getting a "Color Registration Error" message. The maintenance menu has an automtic adjustment for color registration, which I performed, but it did not solve the problem.
Any suggestions?
One of our Ricoh CL3500N printers- less than a year old- gave us a "color regist error" after changing the transfer belt.
Ran the "adjust color regist" without results. It would just finish and pop back up with the same error.
Color test page printed no color, just BW
I reseated everything, and even replaced the PCU without positive results.
A couple hours later I went back, took everything out (be sure to keep the pcus out of the light!), and vaccuumed the heck outta that printer.
For whatever reason- maybe there was a chunk of toner hanging out, maybe I knocked something loose or back in place, whatever- but when I put all the parts in and turned it on, the error was gone and color printed great!

We have prints that have faint black lines (vertical) on the left edge of the paper. The lines go the full length of the paper and are approx. 1.5 inches wide. Is it the black photoconductor unit? Before I spend $$, I would like to be sure.
Thanks
JH
Hi best way to check is to remove the black photoconductor and you should be able to see the little lines on it also check the the black dev/toner unit for the lines. most likely to be the black photoconductor unit though.
Thanks J

due to voltage fluctuation the problem occured
Relates to fuser unit. Needs to be reset from service mode.

how do you get into the service mode to reset the fuser unit of the Ricoh printer
This is the solution from Ricoh website:
Please
press Menu. Then scroll to Maintenance and press Enter. Scroll to Color
Regist and press Enter. Scroll to Color Regist Auto Adjust and then
press Enter to Auto adjust. If after completing the procedure the error
persists, please contact your service representative for support.
I'm told this works as well...
On the main board put dip switch 101-1 on and then off and then enter
97 and press the aps key. Then power cycle the printer.

While I am trying to print, it comes up load form fed or press enter; and a red light flashes on the panel between power and data in. This happens after it says processing and then the alert comes up.

It sounds like the print job you are sending is probably on A4 and the machine is set to A4 or has A4 in the tray.
Try changing the page size that you send to the printer and ensure the paper size in the tray is the same as the print job AND that the tray sizes are set correctly.

How to solve the problem with extra blank page after each print?
There could be a couple reasons...
Hope this helps.

when i print, it ask me to load paper or form feed and something about the bypass tray
Sound like the computer printer preferences "paper source" is set to bypass if set to "auto select" select the tray you want. Also make sure type of paper matches what is in printer.
