In the freezer there is a " grill" in the back
Yes there is.
Remove the back panel in your freezer and at the bottom of the evaporator coil you will see a hole about ½" in diameter this is the drain tube. Try using a turkey baster to flush out the drain tube. You might need to use some warm water to melt the ice and then run a wire being very careful not to puncture the hose and run it down the tube to free up the drain. This tube travel down to the bottom of your refrigerator to a pan sometimes located on top of the compressor or somewhere else down there. It collects the water there to evaporate. After cleaning mix a 50 -50 solution of baking soda and water and run some down the drain tube this should help prevent future clogs. This link should help with acessing the drain.

Water forms in the bottom of the freezer section.
The issue you have there is not with ice machine water, but with condensation flowing onto the floor because the drain pipe channel is blocked. You need to defrost for 5 hours and then move behind to the compressor. Locate a small pipe above the compressor which drains into a basin. Blow hard into this pipe and you will feel the pressure release. The blockage will then be clear. Ready to go.(Dont put compressed air into the opening as this can rupture the tube if it is iced up.)

do u have water also going to your door? if you do check the hose connections that run to the door also check the rear of the machine remove the back panel check that u have no leaks in the water valve and also check that the pan that drains from your freezer around the area of your compressor is not full and that the fan is running onthe compressor sounds like you might have a leak in the water going to your door .also check the line goingup the back of the machine to the ice maker hope this helps
There is an ice build up on the floor of the
The defrost drain seems to be the issue. The defrost drain is getting blocked and this is making the ice to accumulate.Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.
There is a auto defrost system in the unit but that is not functioning properly due to ice blocked in the drain tube.So the unit has to be manually defrosted and checked.
keep the unit unplugged from power outlet for minimum 24 hrs .Also empty the unit completely and keep the doors open of the unit.Let all the ice melt then after 24 hrs reconnect the power plug and check.Set the temperature to normal settings and check out.If the same problem is seen after some time then this problem is related to fault in defrost heater assembly. It has to be replaced. But if the problem disappears then ,it was due to defrost .And manual defrost helped.

The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at [email protected]
Water leaking and freezing at bottom of freezer in
Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer
section
underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water)
Make sure water drains when you
pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the
unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)
