It sounds like the polarizer filters are starting to ware due to heat build up, if you remove the lid and the main booard, there is a white plastic mesh cover over the lcd panels, you can remove this and adjust the polarizers for the red, green and blue lcds to adjust the black level, there are 3 hex bolts holding a plastic frames which in turn hold the pre polarizer filters, buy slightly loosening the bolt you can slide the plastic frames left or right to adjust the levels, buy you should mark the position before you start. this may not solve the problem but may help to improve it, unfortunately these projectors require special software to make electrical adjustments which is hard to get hold of.

Nec mt-1065 lamp hours reset
Hello, unfortunately the NEC MT1060 - MT1070 series projectors have EEPROM chips built into the lamp housing which counts the hours that the lamp has been used for so the only way to reset the hours is to change the lamp for a new one, i have not yet found a way to reset the chips even by reprogramming them, i'm afraid the only solution is to replace the lamp with an official NEC unit, but this was obviously their intention.
I want to reset the EEPROM on my lamp for NEC MT1065.
There is no easy way of doing this, but if you remove the eeprom from the circuit and connect it up to an eeprom programmer you can read the data from it and modify the section which records the lamp hours, but unfortunately understanding which part this is, is no simple task, i'm still working on this but if i come up with a solution i will share it on here.

Hello, unfortunately the NEC MT1060 - MT1070 series projectors have EEPROM chips built into the lamp housing which counts the hours that the lamp has been used for so the only way to reset the hours is to change the lamp for a new one, if your old lamp has only had the reflector replaced then it will make no differance because the chip tells the projector weather or not to power up depending on the hours its counted, i have not yet found a way to reset the chips even by reprogramming them, i'm afraid the only solution is to replace the lamp with an official NEC unit, but this was obviously their intention, just as an added note, a solid red lamp indicator light means that the lamp has expired, if its flashing red this means its nearing the end of its life, if the status indicator light is flashing then there could be another issue, by counting the flashes you can reffer to the manual in the troubleshooting section to diagnose the fault, I know this is very late, but anyone else reading this may find it helpfull.
NEC projector M322X indicates light but cannot turn on
Based on the information provided, it is possible that there may be an issue with the projector's power button or internal components. It is recommended to try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the power source: Ensure that the projector is properly plugged into a working power outlet and that the outlet itself is functioning correctly.
2. Reset the projector: Some projectors have a reset button or option in the settings menu. Try resetting the projector to see if this resolves the issue.
3. Check for internal issues: If the above steps do not work, there may be an issue with the projector's internal components. It is recommended to contact a professional technician or the manufacturer for further assistance.
In summary, if a NEC projector indicates light when plugged into a power source but does not turn on when the power button is pressed, it may be due to issues with the power source, internal components, or other factors. Troubleshooting steps such as checking the power source and resetting the projector may help resolve the issue, but professional assistance may be required if these steps do not work.
