Maytag MER5775Q Electric Kitchen Range Questions & Answers
Maytag electric range door handle (how to replace?)
The above solution is fine, but you don't have to remove the door. Open the storage drawer for access to the trim screws (3) on the bottom of the door, remove the screws. Have a helper hold the glass along the bottom. Take the three screws on the top of the door trim out. Slide out the glass and put in a safe place. Remove the four screws that hold the handle brackets in place, remove the handle (or tighten if loose). Install the new handle (one screw on each side). Reinstall all parts in the reverse order of disassembly. The entire job took less than 30 minutes.
5Ab error code for a Maytag Electric Range
You may have inadvertently set your range to "Sabbath Mode". The display actually reads "SAB". This is a feature that allows the consumer to disable certain features of the range in order to honor the sabbath. You cannot defeat it by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker either. You will either have to wait 72 hours for the mode to clear, or figure out how to turn it off.
To turn the Sabbath Mode on/off on most Maytag models you simply press and hold the "Clock" button for 5 seconds. These instructions should be in your owner's manual.
If this does not correct the problem for you, please post back with your model number (located on the back of the range or around the oven door opening) so that I may be able to assist you better. I hope this helps you.
I have a model MER5755QAS. Oven/broiler not working right.
Sounds like you may be getting only 110v to unit. After unplugging, Check for any burnt wires around terminal block or around elements. Also first check if breaker may have half way tripped. Cut breaker for stove all the way off and then back on. The bake element may have partially tripped the 220v breaker thus only sending 110v to unit.
Door will not open and I get code f1 on controls
You may need to replace the touch pad or the electronic control board behind the touch pad. Before that however, try to remove power from the stove. Unplug it. Them plug it in again. If you are able, remove the harnesses and wires from the board(take off the back of the stove panel to access). Replace them and see what happens.
