I have had my camera since March and take pictures on a daily basis. Today I went to take pictures and notices lines on the screen. When I review the pictures I took inside they look a little fuzzy. Pictures taken outside are extremely fuzzy and white in color. Any suggestions as to what this is?? or how to fix it??
Hi, I have the same problem with my sony DSC-S700. I think someone drop it, and it took pictures with horizontal line specially outdoor. I noticed that the lens shutter does'nt open and close. All I did was to tap on the lens several times and everythings back to normal. I so happy my camera is working again. Thanks to your idea. Brenton

I have owned my Kodak EasyShare Z612 for around 14 months now. It's worked great up until last week when I noticed that the pictures started to show horizontal lines through them. I tried resetting the camera, but it's still doing the same thing.
Any ideas?
I've had sinilar problems with mine. I bought it in November of 2006 and sent it back to Kodak (under warranty) 3x before they finally agreed to replace it (with a refurbed unit). Well, that was in June of 2007 and the problem is now baaaack with the reoplacement camera (same model)... I'm requesting Kodak replace it with another model, but I'm "out of warranty" and they want me to pay them $145 to repair (which they've never been able to fix for me). So I am requesting them to replace with a different model.

Appears I'm not alone with this problem. How do I get the menu button to work? Thanks for your help.
I had the same problem and fixed it! There is a small resistor just to the left of the menu button that was misaligned in theproduction process and the slightest amount of shock(i.e. small drop or maybe even bumping the camera with your hand) wouldbust the resistor's connection loose.
I basically just pulled the cover off, removed the old resistor and bridged the two points and that fixed it.
I am putting a more detailed HOWTO on the front page of my site, you can view it without making an account, but feel free to if you want. I hope this helps a few people.
http://HouseOfChaos.gotdns.com is my site, I also took a few pics and should have them up tomorrow.

Camera (Z612) was dropped on a hard surface. Camera works except for vertical lines appearing on LCD screen after shot. Pressing review button, shot usually appears OK. Can this vertical line error be corrected/repaired??

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z612, the problem is that when you turn on the camera the green light flashes four times then shuts off. The only position the camera turns on at is when it is in the Favorite mode and shows the Demo Photos. I can access the menu and have tried to reset the camera but with no results. I have three batteries which are all fully charged and they do not help. What next,,,,Thank You.
while you turn try and turn it on slow twist and pull lens outwards(gently while power on /off) and it will retract back in and power on.Work perfectly after.

Kodak EasyShare Z612 will not format SDHC 4.0 GB card.
Z612 is not compatible with SDHC card., the compatible and recommended Memory card you can only used is 1GB SD card or 2GB SD card. Gudluck!

The pictures have horizontal lines through them. The veiw screen is fine. When you review or save them to the computer they show up whiter and with lines. Thanks ahead for any help.
If this doesn't apear on the print pictures taken directly from the SD card. It has something to do with the settings for the picture transferre on your computer.
Try and reset/adjust the settings within the transferre programe. I cannot tell you the eact steps for that since it will depend on the programe you're using. But it can usually be done right before transferring pics to the computer.
If helpful pls. recommend/rate me and or give me a review. TXS

i have a sandisk sdhc card but it wont format on my kodak easyshare z612 camera
The Z612 uses SD or MMC cards. It will not accept SDHC cards. You'll need to use cards 2GB and smaller.
