I am on my 5th router. I just got a new modem

Is is the same model of router each time?

If that is so, try changing the security settings (WPA, WEP... ) and see if that helps. Sometimes there could be quirks with some depending on various factors.

If changing the security settings work, then you know the issue lies within there, your choices are then to 1) either stick with the settings which work, or 2) change the model

My intel wireless adapter displays

Hi,

Suggest you reinstall the driver from your drivers cd that you got with your laptop. Alternatively get driver from the manufacturer's website.

If you still get this issue, then usually points to a hardware failure

Make sure that you have already tried switching the PC off and back on again.

As a last resort, you may want to recover your pc back to its factory setting with your recovery disks and if still not detected, almost certainly a hardware problem

Hope this helps

Wlan driver problem in vaio vgn-cs21gn

Hi...
This is Nishit Jadawala from Ahmedabad, India. I am also having the same problem with my Sony Vaio VGN-CS21GN Laptop. WiFi was working perfectly in Vista but when I downgraded it to Windows-XP it started giving me errors that "Driver Not Found for the Device" I have downloaded all the drivers available on internet but nothing worked.
Finally after 8 months of research on this problem, I came to know that there is a bug in the supplied Windows XP-SP3 Operating System. There is a file in Service Pack 3 that doesn't allow drivers to access the hardware of WiFi.
The Solution is you will have to forget the bundled windows XP and upgrade your operating System. Right now better option is to go for windows 7. It dint even asked for any kind of drivers to load. WiFi is also working perfectly on it. The laptop has become more faster & smoother than in windows XP.
For more queries, you can write to me on [email protected]
Thanks & Regards,

Wireless connection drop

Good day,

I have one advice if this case happens again. Try to connect to your net provider in a less hot, humid, windy or noisy surrounding. Since signals travel thru sound waves winds and other noises can really make your connection drop and sometimes halt the connection.
Should you have questions feel free to approach this post.

I can't connect to any wireless networks with my

It might sound stupid, but if you have an IBM/Lenovo laptop, it is possible that the antenna is turned off. These laptops have either a software or hardware switch (or both) to turn the antenna off completely.

(Other notebooks have that too, of course...)

Can you confirm that this is not the case?

If you need help on how to check that - please let me know and tell me which computer you have.

Also - make sure that the card is active in your Device Manager.
Again: if you need help how to find that - let me know and we'll figure it out.
